Ristorante L'Elfo In Capracotta

A historic restaurant in Capracotta, a must-see gastronomic destination! We've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed: the atmosphere is comfortable, the welcome, and the service are excellent. The food is exceptionally tasty and reasonably priced. Reservations are essential, especially on Sundays. We returned for lunch after several months, again on Sundays and always by reservation. I confirm the positive feedback I've expressed in the past. The menu changes regularly, depending on the season. This time, we skipped the appetizers to avoid filling up quickly and went straight to the delicious first courses and the excellent grilled meats. House desserts, DOC rosé wine, water, and coffee cost just over €40 per person, a price we spent without regrets.

One of the very few original 16th-century cave-cellars that survived the devastation of World War II, which razed Capracotta, now houses a charming restaurant. The owners are cheerful, kind, and welcoming, serving cuisine that is attentive to the local area and its presentation, with a modern touch that is never pretentious or self-serving. The ingredients tell the story of a rural and mountainous Molise, generous and simple, with a natural refinement that reflects the beauty of the landscape surrounding Elfo. The background music is highly appreciated, refined and culturally relevant, featuring the best Italian singer-songwriters and foreign easy rock, yet never intrusive.

Dinner at L'Elfo restaurant on August 30, 2025, was overall positive, but there were some areas that could be improved. The restaurant is very charming, well-kept, and welcoming, with a pleasant atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The food quality is good: fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes. Unfortunately, the service was rather slow, with wait times significantly above average, which detracted somewhat from the evening. The presentation of the dishes was also rather sparse: nothing bad, but a little more attention to the plating would make the experience more complete. In summary: excellent cuisine and a beautiful restaurant, but the service and the aesthetics of the dishes could be improved.

A welcoming, fairytale atmosphere, delicious first courses, and an excellent tagliata with pecorino cheese and red berries. After a while, you don't feel like you're being watched by the elves... The menu offers excellent value and an extensive local wine list. A must-try if you're looking for a delicious tagliolini with black truffle.

Our friend took us to dinner at this welcoming and comfortable restaurant. It was a positive experience, with delicious dishes and attentive and professional staff. Franca carefully selected music, which we greatly appreciated!

Ristorante caldo e accogliente dopo una giornata molto fredda e impegnativa.Cibo molto buono,primi variegati e innovativi. Personale accogliente e confidenziale,ma la parte migliore arriva quando arrivano i secondi,carne di vario tipo tenera e di alto livello,consiglio vivamente questo ristorante per chi vuole passare hna serata in tranquillità e al caldo in un paesino molto freddo. Da ritornarci!

Siamo stati a cena dopo un'amichevole del Napoli a Castel di Sangro. Già il primo approccio telefonico lasciava presagire il meglio: persone gentilissime, cortesi, disponibili. Siamo rientrati a Capracotta intorno alle 22:00, ma ci hanno accolto con il sorriso e con una simpatia unica. Michele ci ha deliziato con una cucina squisita, carne tenerissima, primo superlativo, panna cotta Top. L'Elfo si è rivelato un ristorante eccezionale che conferisce un valore aggiunto alla meravigliosa Capracotta. Lo consiglio vivamente a tutti i turisti che si fermano in questo angolo di quiete tra le montagne abbruzzesi. Veramente complimenti e grazie a tutta la famiglia che gestisce il ristorante l'Elfo.

Beautiful experience we had lunch in this beautiful place excellent dishes. Fantastic cereal soup The blueberry tagliatelle, the starters, the excellent meat. The desserts were all delicious, we will definitely be back and then Capracotta is beautiful........you have to try it to believe it.
