The owner and his son are very helpful, kind, and friendly, and their commitment is evident.
We returned after about 7–8 years of operating under the previous management, with fond memories of the past experience.
We noticed some differences compared to then, especially in the attention to detail and the quality of the raw materials.
This isn't a criticism, but a constructive suggestion: investing even more in quality could further enhance an already welcoming and worthy business.

The atmosphere is casual and a bit dated. The food is good, especially the appetizers, and the fried polenta is truly delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. Prices are a bit high, but in line with today's prices.

I'll never tire of repeating it: Astronave 🛸 remains undoubtedly MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT 🔝. I started thinking this several years ago after eating here for the first time, and even after a long time, I still absolutely agree. A clarification is necessary, however: back then, we dined (on two different occasions, in fact) at the old location in Monteriggioni (which I honestly preferred due to its splendid location immersed in the countryside). In any case, we returned recently since we were in the area at lunchtime. Arriving there (the new location is in Colle di Val d'Elsa) at 1:00 PM 🕐 with a reservation 📞, we parked nearby and then walked 🚶♂️ to the restaurant. As soon as we entered, we were warmly greeted by the owners, lovely people, who immediately showed us to our table. Since we intended to devote ourselves entirely to the Florentine steak 🥩 (perhaps a rather large one), we practically didn't even look at the menu 📋; we only added an appetizer for three people to our order: crostini with tomatoes 🍅, fried polenta, and mixed cold cuts (really good 😋). To drink, water 💧 and house red wine 🍷. And about the steaks 🥩, as they like to call them around here, what can I say? That they were fantastic, divine, amazing, etc.? I could use any kind of adjective... but none of them would convey the idea of the sublime taste experience we had 🤤. REMARKABLE QUALITY, even in terms of cooking. I won't go into further detail about something that can't be explained in words; instead, I'll attach 📎 some photos 📸 that seem extremely informative to me. At the end of the meal, we even had room for a couple of desserts 🍰 and, of course, coffees ☕. The quality/price ratio was excellent, given that the Florentine steak 🥩 was priced at less than 30 euros 💶 per kg (the lowest price I've ever received for this type of cut). The owners were extremely kind and friendly, exactly as we remembered them. The bathrooms 🚾 were clean and tidy 🚽🧻. FOR US, THE ASTRONAVE REMAINS A TOTEM, AN ABSOLUTE POINT OF REFERENCE. RECOMMENDED 👍, but obviously it goes without saying.
Saturday XIII - IX - MMXXV
I returned there more recently, specifically last Saturday, as the first stop on our late-summer Tuscan trip. Arriving at the restaurant around 7:50 pm 🕗, well ahead of our reservation time 📧, we realized not only that we were the first guests, but also that the property had undergone an unexpected change in management (which, as I was later told, apparently dates back three years). Indeed, the accent of the managers 👨🏻🧑🏻 now seems much more Campanian than I remembered, although they still didn't make us miss the iconic and indigenous previous management. Once at the table, after a quick 👀 pro forma glance at the menu 📋, we ordered a 1.5 kg heifer steak 🥩 (new to the menu 📋) accompanied by a couple of side dishes (fries and radicchio); To complete the order, we also included a liter of sparkling water 💧, two glasses of red 🍷, and, to finish the meal, an orzo and an espresso ☕️. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the presentation of the dishes was also impressive, although the meat 🥩 was probably cooked a bit overcooked (we had asked for it rare). Also noteworthy were the potatoes 🥔, homemade and floury, as well as being all peeled by hand (this is specifically mentioned on the last page of the menu 📋). Finally, the quality/price ratio was always good, since we spent a total of 89 euros 💶. Unfortunately, there's no dedicated parking area 🅿️, so you'll have to find a spot nearby. Other than that, it's always a POINT OF REFERENCE when passing through these parts.
