The only drawback is the limited parking, so we have to leave the car along the narrow road.

Difficult to get to, the road is extremely narrow and the parking lot, once you reach the top of the hill, isn't very large, but the view is absolutely rewarding, spanning the entire valley all the way to Marina di Pisa. The place feels like an Alpine cabin, with a fireplace, a wood-burning stove, and wooden finishes, including the roof beams. The staff is extremely friendly, and you're greeted with a small sample of focaccia, bread fritters, and fried polenta. The menu is typically Tuscan, with appetizers featuring cured meats and cheese, and first courses ranging from ravioli, paccheri with duck ragù, sliced ​​beef, peposo, suckling pig with porcini mushrooms, and more. The house wine is not bad, a fragrant San Giovese. The homemade desserts include the deconstructed millefeuille with orange-flavored Chantilly cream and the traditional torta co' bischeri. Generous portions, very good ingredients, and a fair price, around €40 per person. Recommended even if it's not exactly on the road...

We celebrated our daughter's confirmation because we'd been there before and always enjoyed it. Excellent value for money, attentive and welcoming service. The place is also worth a visit during the day, with a beautiful view of the valley and a small adjacent village perfect for a stroll.

Very very beautiful location, not bad food but honestly I expected much more, very long wait at the table to be served.

It's a place I've known for at least 30 years, isolated, beautiful, all wood and a rustic style that I like (my dad loved it too). Unfortunately, I haven't been for at least 4 years and I found a more limited menu (only 3 appetizers and 4 first courses) and very bland and anonymous dishes (to my disappointment). Then, during mushroom season, no mushroom dishes, and when I asked why, the answer was "just subordination." But if you don't mention it when booking or if it's not written on the website, how can anyone know this? Meh 🙏. Too bad we left a little disappointed. Maybe we just had a bad night.

I've known Il Conventino for many years and have never been disappointed. Excellent traditional Tuscan cuisine and fair prices.
