Although the amount of food wasn't generous, the flavor, the presentation, and the wine I chose in an individual glass to accompany it were wonderful.

We had beef carpaccio and prawns to start followed by tuna and catch of the day. It was all really delicious 😋. We were lucky to walk in and get an outside table so would recommend booking. The local wines are out of this world and an amazing price. Service was great too - would recommend.

The food was very good albeit a little salty for the potatoes. The beef carpaccio was excellent and the tuna and linguine with clams were also both very good. The panna cotta was also solid. The service tried very hard but was clearly overwhelmed. The table next to us kept the staff very busy by having a screaming fit. We didn’t get a lot of attention. We leisurely finished a bottle of wine between appetizer and entree. The smell of cigarettes was persistent. We were dining inside and upstairs, not outside.

11 years ago we were recommended Donna Sofia by our hotel and the food, service and atmosphere was so incredible we came a 2nd time on 3-day stay. 11 years later, the restaurant is even better than we remembered. Mario and his family take great care of their guests and will leave you wanting to return to Sorrento to eat here again. Highly recommend eating here - try all of the recommended dishes (Calamari and gnocchi are musts), enjoy a bottle of wine from their beautiful cellar, and even if you don’t have room left make sure to try their desserts.

Food was delicious. We sat outside. The inside, however, is very nice. Reservations are required.

We learned about Donna Sofia from the guide who took us on our tour of the Amalfi Coast earlier in the day. He told us that it was the best restaurant in Sorrento. And he was spot on. The food, the service and the atmosphere were all first class! The theme of the restaurant is a tribute to the great Italian actress Sofie Loren, which portraits of her adorning the walls throughout the dining room. There's also an amazing wine cellar with tables for larger parties and a romatic outdoor seating area -- where we were seated -- that provided us with a romatic setting, enhanced by a nice red wine suggested to us by our server. My wife ordered the king prawns with cherry tomatoes and buratta cheese cause and I had a perfectly cooked grilled filet with cherry tomates and fresh deep fried chips. And for dessert, we split a lemon delight cake and the most incredible mixed berry cheese cake our server told us was made by the owner's wife. Sofia Loren was the picture of grace and elegance and the restaurant named in her honor lives up to the same high standard. We had a fantastic dinner that capped off a perfect day in Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast!

Had a wonderful dining experience celebrating a friend’s birthday. The ambiance and lighting were lovely, creating such a warm atmosphere, and the cantine was beautiful. Despite being very busy, the service was attentive throughout the evening. A special mention to Francesco, who was an absolute delight — friendly, welcoming, and really helped make the occasion extra special for our visiting friends. Grazie! Tamara

What an incredible experience. Great food, service and many extras from the owner and chef. They sent out pizzas, what seemed like endless appetizers and a great meal. They followed it up with limoncello and desserts in their private wine room. AMAZING!
