Dreams are made of this. Probably the best description I can give. First time visit and its extremely rare we revisit anywhere again simply because there are so many other places to go things to see. So we got home and rebooked twice to go back in 2026. This is our happy place. Congratulations to all that work so hard to make this happen.

Fantastic location with stunning views of Mount Etna, beautiful, stylish, and spacious rooms, very friendly staff, excellent and plentiful breakfast and a great dinner with a romantic atmosphere at very fair prices, a small oasis away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Taormina city center (we'd love to come back!)

We dined at the restaurant here as we were staying nearby and didn't fancy venturing into town that evening. The meal we had was lovely and reasonably priced - which was a pleasant surprise as the whole vibe was luxurious. We topped it off with a nightcap in the bar overlooking the beautiful bay.

I'd like to start off by stating how lovely this hotel is and the location in which it is situated high in the mountain. The view of Taormina and Etna is breaktaking and comparable to one you would have at the Four Seasons San Domenico. The rooms are nice, modern and comfortable as well. (*Note: I am writing this as were are currently here, with 2 days left on our booking) However, my husband and I feel a similar vibe to the young couple's review from a few weeks ago. This hotel seems to draw in older couples, perhaps through a club or travel agency, and as such, it seems that service is prioritized to those guests. The reception's warmness in character changes throughout the day depending on which shift is working the front, with my questions being answered quickly with a sort of condescending tone. Same with the staff at breakfast when I had a question and at the pool during downtime. This was all on our first day, mind you, as my husband and I were simply getting the lay of the hotel and it's customs sorted out. Not all staff have been this way, but most—it's as if we should magically know everything before we arrive. Not very welcoming and that keeps us from enjoying our time here. The shuttle service is excellent, although the messages regarding flexibility and needing to change times have been met with a bit of annoyance on the staff's part, despite us being told multiple times from the front desk that it is perfectly fine to change pickup and drop-off times with reasonable notice through WhatsApp. We've given very reasonable notice twice when needing to extend our pickup time. Breakfast starts at 7:45am and ends at 10:30, but my husband and I noticed that by 8:45-9:00am, staff were no longer replenishing hot, cold, or pastry items. We had arrived to eat at 8:30am. Is this another "we should have known" secret about the hotel, that once items are initially brought out at 7:45am, that there is no replenishment to guests who don't arrive exactly when breakfast begins? If our stay improves by check-out, then I will update my review. We have been in Italy for over 3 weeks and have stayed at multiple hotels and B&Bs, so this has nothing to do with us being incompetent about the country, culture, or general lodging policies—there isn't a language barrier as I understand a lot of Italian and speak Spanish which has helped me communicate with Italians—this just seems to be a particular vibe with Villa Angela.
