The Bonfanti Design Hotel is visually stunning: clean, relatively new, modern, and functionally furnished. The spa area with its pools is a real highlight – stylish, high-quality, and exactly what you'd want for a relaxing stay. The service was consistently friendly and attentive – both in the restaurant and at the bar. Unfortunately, there were a few things that significantly marred our stay. The reception staff often seemed very distant: They frequently didn't greet guests, or they made us feel like we had to greet them first. Sometimes there were three women sitting there without eye contact or even a brief gesture of appreciation – unless you actively approached them. Once you asked a question, however, they were friendly and professional. Nevertheless, a warmer welcome and a bit more presence would have been desirable. It's important to know that the hotel is Italian-run, and the clientele reflects this – over 90% of the guests are Italian. Anyone expecting the standard and tranquility of a typical South Tyrolean spa hotel will likely be disappointed. Regarding the reception, the staff often seemed distant. The afternoon buffet (1–5 pm) was really disappointing: very small, hardly any selection, rather uninspired (e.g., overcooked pasta bake, soup, basic cheese), and it wasn't replenished – at least we didn't see any. Breakfast: You can generally find everything you could want, but it's very Italian-influenced and therefore very sugary (mostly sweet). The spa area had so much potential – but relaxation was hardly possible for us. The many children, especially in the sauna area, were extremely disruptive: loud, running, screaming, and constantly on the move. A sauna area should be a place of peace and quiet – unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. And this continued, to some extent, in the dining room. A clear separation between the family and adults-only areas (like in many other hotels) would be really helpful. In addition, the sauna area was clearly designated as a nude area, yet many guests were wearing bikinis/swim trunks. This is not only disruptive to others, but also a health concern: Swimwear in the sauna is problematic for hygienic reasons and can even become uncomfortable or risky due to heat and sweat. That's precisely why these rules exist – and precisely why the hotel needs to be more proactive in informing guests and more consistently ensuring they are followed. Signs alone are useless if no one is checking. This unfortunately leads to unnecessary conflicts among guests. There's also a lack of organizational support in the wellness area: no one dries the floor, refills tea and water, or tidies up. Sauna towels are only provided in the rooms; there are no additional towels in the wellness area. Another thing that struck us was this: This hotel is truly high-quality and stylish – but there's no one to uphold its reputation. When guests show up for dinner in shorts and flip-flops, it simply looks out of place in a design hotel. Frankly, one wonders where the hotel management or director is in such situations – because a hotel of this caliber should have clear standards and enforce them politely but firmly. ``` In conclusion: A fantastic hotel with great potential and a beautiful spa area. However, without clear rules and consistent enforcement, it's impossible to enjoy the hotel to its full potential. A real shame – because the hotel itself has the potential to be truly special.

I'm writing this review because I think the hotel has a lot of potential, but also a lot of room for improvement. Let's start with the assumption that we had a good time and ate excellently. The facility is new and very beautiful. We liked the forest room and the spa, but we didn't like the free access for children to the saunas (it says it's forbidden to minors), nor the chaos they make in the pools without anyone saying anything (they play ball, scream, and splash around). We came to relax, and it's not a water park; someone should say something. PRAISE FOR THE RESTAURANT GUYS: Everyone was extremely kind, from the first to the last. We were sad to leave for them too. A special thanks goes to Cristian, who welcomed us every evening at the restaurant, and to Elias, but also to the very young man whose name we don't know. Negative notes: For a 4-star hotel and the price we paid, I don't think it's appropriate that there's no one to help with our luggage. We arrived and were told to take a trolley and carry it ourselves. The reception staff were a bit unsympathetic on several occasions. When we ran out of toilet paper, we had to ask for more at reception, and it was handed to us in front of other people—not very nice or hygienic. We don't think it's appropriate that room service lasts until 9:00 PM. All of this is always expressed in reference to the price we paid, which isn't cheap, and we expected a little more service. Staying at Bonfanti Design Hotel for our winter holiday was a great experience. The hotel is very comfortable and well equipped with all amenities, including an excellent wellness area with several indoor and outdoor pools. The stay was truly pleasant and enjoyable, and the hotel’s location close to the slopes of the Kronplatz Ski Resort is perfect. The food was outstanding, adding even more to the overall experience. We will definitely return to enjoy the great comfort and excellent cuisine again.

We prepaid for a weekend stay at this property, from Friday to Sunday, but due to work commitments, we had to postpone our arrival to Saturday morning, thus losing a spa day, dinner, an overnight stay, and breakfast, all of which had already been paid for. The welcome was not up to par with a four-star hotel: the staff, though young, seemed poorly trained and lacked customer service skills. I would recommend paying more attention to this aspect. Despite the services we hadn't used but had paid for, upon checkout, we were not given the option to stay in the spa without paying €25 per person for access after 3:30 PM. I should also point out that the pool's opening hours in the morning are from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, coinciding with breakfast: a rather unwise management of time that absolutely needs to be reconsidered!!! The indoor pool had loungers full of kicks, a situation we encountered both on the day of arrival and on Sunday. Without further ado, and considering we had already paid for numerous services we hadn't used, we weren't offered any compensation, not even access to the spa on the day of checkout, which in many 4- and 5-star properties is usually included until late afternoon. We were only assigned one locker for two people, clearly insufficient given its tiny size. After asking for clarification, we had to return to reception to request a second. We weren't even able to use the outdoor pool, which didn't reopen until 5:00 PM: another disappointment. Also, a note on the comfort of the room: the thermostat was off, so hot during the night in January that we had to open the window. When paying the bill, we were also charged for some drinks we hadn't used, which were promptly disputed and removed. Despite having asked to speak to a manager twice, both upon arrival and at checkout, we never received a response. To avoid further arguments, we still paid for Sunday's spa entrance. Positive aspects: The only truly positive note: the friendly, helpful, and very professional wait staff, and the food, which was excellent. We ate really well. Conclusion Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. There were too many flaws in the welcome and customer service, which are crucial aspects for a property that claims to be four-star.

I returned to the Bonfanti Design Hotel for the third consecutive year over New Year's Eve, and it's become an unmissable event for me. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet, and immaculately kept: you sleep really well. The common areas are also well-maintained and pleasant, with a sense of order and cleanliness that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you enter. Furthermore, the staff is kind, helpful, and discreet. The wellness center is truly an added bonus: the outdoor pool is spectacular and worth the stay alone.

The Bonfanti Design Hotel in the Puster Valley is simply heaven on earth! Every time I return, I feel at home, but with the luxury and comfort that make a vacation a dream come true. As soon as I arrive, the first great emotion hits me... the unique and distinctive scent that wafts throughout the hotel and makes you start dreaming... The spa is a true oasis of relaxation for body and mind. The saunas with a master fan, the Turkish bath, the indoor and outdoor pools, and the various hot tubs are just a few of the treatments that will make you feel like a king! The food: a delight for the palate! The restaurant is a unique culinary experience. The dishes are prepared and presented with great style and elegance, and the service is impeccable. And the New Year's Eve menu...at night I still dream of those delicious chestnut flour ravioli stuffed with pumpkin and cheese!! And then there's the restaurant, bar, and reception staff: always available and smiling 😊 But the real heart of the hotel is the manager, the great Jan, always available, always smiling, and ready to satisfy every request, even the most absurd. A huge thank you to everyone for making our ski week so special! Now it's time to countdown to our next vacation at the Bonfanti!

For six years now, the Bonfanti has become our go-to destination in South Tyrol. The staff is always attentive and helpful, ready to address any issues. The food is excellent and carefully prepared. The manager and owners are always very friendly and kind. Perhaps parents should tell their little ones not to use the spa, which is reserved for adults, as per the rules. It wouldn't be nice to have a security guard controlling access to a place of relaxation and unwinding. What can I say? The Bonfanti keeps us connected with its high level of hospitality, typical of South Tyrol.

08/01/2026: The Magic Mountain! A wonderfully family-run hotel with a correspondingly warm and welcoming atmosphere. Savor the flavors and take your time. The kitchen operates at a top level, offering fantastic regional dishes and local specialties. The rooms are impeccably maintained, very modern, and extremely comfortable. Most requests go unanswered. The service is impeccable and friendly. The highlight is the incredible view of the Rosengarten in the Dolomites. A place just as Thomas Mann described it. Culture, soul, and body are nurtured here. I'd love to return. Come as a guest and leave as a friend.
26/12/2025: Great location, unfortunately focused on quantity rather than quality.
