I was last here in 2011. Since then, it has undergone extensive renovations, but the balance between tradition and modernity hasn't been completely achieved. Nevertheless, it's a good hotel with first-class service and good cuisine in a wonderful setting, albeit in a remote location.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel at the end of August, two families with teenage children. The hotel has everything you need: a pool, a hot tub, and a lovely spa. The breakfast was good and complete, as was the dinner, with good quality and variety. The staff was helpful. There's also a games area with ping pong, billiards, and foosball. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms. The only reason I didn't give the room 5 stars is the lack of a bidet, which, given the hotel's recent renovation and the spacious bathroom...it wasn't a bad thing...since a bidet is a VERY USEFUL feature! Otherwise, everything was perfect.

It was a truly pleasant experience: the hotel was welcoming, with comfortable and clean rooms, and the staff was always helpful. The food deserved special mention: the breakfasts were rich and varied, with fresh and tasty products; dinner at the on-site restaurant also offered well-presented and flavorful dishes, catering to everyone's dietary needs. The only flaw, if we can find one, concerns the sauna: I found some people in it naked, without any covering. While I know this may be a personal choice or a cultural custom in some facilities, it made me feel uncomfortable, and I would have preferred a slightly more discreet environment.

We returned a week ago and I must say we were very satisfied. The recently renovated relaxation area was very clean, the wellness area was hydromassage, and the children's pool was great. Dinner with a mountain view, and the breakfast was excellent. There was a play area for small children, billiards, ping pong, and table football for families. There's also a gym. Friendly staff. We'll always have wonderful memories.

I was there in March 2025, and the snow on the glacier was perfect for skiing. One day, I drove to Merano with my fellow travelers; it was green there. And white up above. I was recommended the hotel by a friend and would recommend it to potential hotel guests with a clear conscience. In conclusion, I can recommend the Hotel Gerstgras.
