Excellent service and hospitality from Mr. Nicola and his wife, the dishes are truly special. The quality/price ratio is truly excellent. However, I want to point out to other customers who come and read this: a few steps away there is an elderly lady in a delicatessen, "La Signora Maria," who will try to keep you from entering the restaurant, just as she did with us. She will try every way she can to convince you that the quality will be poor and the service terrible. Please don't believe her, especially since you would miss out on the opportunity to eat truly quality food.

If you get past the blonde lady at the entrance who tries to mislead you by suggesting other restaurants, the place is nice and welcoming. I found the platter excellent, and the first course was good, even though the wild boar sauce didn't seem fresh, but it was still good. The location along the highway is excellent.

We stopped for lunch at this quaint restaurant. Something very strange happened: An elderly lady stopped us outside, introducing herself as the owner, and asked us to leave. She convinced us not to park and to continue on. Luckily, the owner, having seen the scene from the window, called us back, explaining that this happens often and that the crazy woman kicks everyone out. We went back and didn't regret it!! The staff is very kind and the food is excellent! I highly recommend trying the meat; it has incredible flavor and tenderness.

On the way back from Roccaraso, my partner and I decided to stop for lunch at this well-reviewed place, found on Google Maps. Upon arrival, finding two signs with the same name, we entered the first place, a delicatessen. A woman advised us against eating at the restaurant next door, saying it was her property and, unfortunately, she had leased it to people who didn't care for it as lovingly as she had in the past. She recommended we try two nearby restaurants. A little uncomfortable with the situation, we decided to go into the restaurant anyway. Thankfully! We were warmly welcomed and served. We had a delicious appetizer of cured meats and cheeses made with quality ingredients, and the house wine was equally delicious. Two first courses and a second course with sides were delicious, and to finish, a tenerina cake made with so much love by the lady who runs the place, along with her husband, who also offered us two bitters at the end of the meal. After a few laughs over the story of the slanderous neighbor, we left feeling happy and satisfied. If it happens again, we will definitely return!

The managers are friendly, helpful and cordial. The location is very nice, well-kept and very rustic, which fits well with the village perched a few kilometers away. I ate there white pappardelle with wild boar sauce and crumbled sausage, a real delicacy. The second course was pork shank with potatoes, a real delicacy. We are not from the area but I have decided to return, the final result was excellent, I recommend it without hesitation.
