Ristorante "da Gianni" In Portoferraio

Talking about "da Gianni" is easy, even if it risks being reductive. Besides the exceptional and generous portions, several other key aspects must be added (at least in my opinion), first and foremost the service: there are professionals who make guests feel at home, taking care of them and creating a harmonious environment you never want to leave. And then there's Andrea; his anecdotes about the restaurant's family roots are touching, and his stories about his life are laugh-out-loudly tear-inducing. In short, when you go "da Gianni," you already know you'll have a fun evening eating fantastic food straight from the sea.

Beautiful location, spacious with plenty of seating. Satisfactory service, good and friendly staff. Menu with a choice of meat, fish, and wines. Reasonable prices. Good bill. Recommended.

We had a truly wonderful meal. The homemade orecchiette were sensational: fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. The place is beautiful and welcoming. A great asset is definitely the staff: fantastic, kind, courteous, and always attentive to the customer's needs. You can really feel the care and dedication to hospitality and the desire to make everyone feel welcome. A more than positive experience, excellent cuisine, and impeccable service. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff

Spurred by the reviews—many of them—we went to try it. The food was average, with limited choice of main courses, while the first course menu was more extensive, although some of the options were by reservation only. The service was friendly and attentive, as was the fair bill, actually, even lower, not counting the little girl 😁. It doesn't deserve the top spot it holds on TripAdvisor among Portoferraio restaurants; there are many better options. I recommend it, but without high expectations.

It was our first time at this restaurant, a group of four (two adults and two children, ages 3 and 7). We were particularly impressed with the service! Saif (I hope I spelled his name correctly) was attentive to our every need, always available, and always smiling, even though it was a busy Saturday night! His professionalism, speed, and kindness were unparalleled! Kudos also to the chef, the spaghetti with clams was the best on the island! Not to mention the fried food, loved by both adults and children... and a huge thank you to the man who gave us lollipops! It was our last night on the island, and discovering this restaurant made it a great end to our trip; we consider it one of the best of our week! Thank you so much ♥️
