Highly recommended. Especially for fish lovers. The catch of the day is freshly prepared for guests. You can choose the fish, which is then cooked in the oven. The service is fast, friendly, competent, and helpful.

This is our second time here this year and we always enjoy it and would love to come back.

Great service and place. The catch of the day (baked) was OK. Nothing bad, but the price of 8€ per hg in no way reflects the taste experience and portion.

We returned to Gianni's for lunch twice during our stay on Elba: the welcome was simply superb, with a rare kindness. The homemade orecchiette are truly amazing, as is the fried seafood, light and crispy to perfection. The octopus is also not to be missed, tender and flavorful. The wine list is excellent, with a nice selection of both local and international labels. We finished with dessert: the tiramisu is irresistible, and the cantucci biscuits round out the meal perfectly. A restaurant where you feel welcomed like family, with generous portions and absolutely reasonable prices for the quality offered. Highly recommended!

I visited "Da Gianni" in Portoferraio and had a truly excellent experience. The welcoming and refined atmosphere immediately puts you at ease, but it's the cuisine that truly stands out. I enjoyed dishes based on the freshest seafood, prepared with great attention to flavor and tradition. The most memorable moment was the cacciucco, truly extraordinary: rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. A dish worth the visit alone. All the first courses feature homemade pasta. The service is friendly and attentive, and the quality/price ratio is excellent. Andrea, the owner, is always available to discuss and recommend the day's specials. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to savor authentic Elban seafood cuisine. I returned the following evening, canceling a previously scheduled reservation at another restaurant. I have no doubts about where I'll return to eat in Portoferraio.

My girlfriend and I spontaneously decided to have lunch there. Even though the restaurant was actually full, the owner managed to get us a very nice table! The entire staff stands out from the crowd with their friendly and personable approach! The food was absolutely outstanding! We were shown a selection of fresh fish, and the menu features typical local dishes! The farewell was very warm... as if we knew each other well! We can wholeheartedly recommend Da Gianni without reservation!

Two of us show up at 6:30 PM without a reservation (the restaurant opens at 7 PM). After a few minutes, they kindly find us a seat. At 7 PM, we return, we are the first ones there, the restaurant is still empty. A waiter arrives with a box of fish saying, "This is the catch of the day, we're sorry but we don't do pasta tonight." At this statement, we decide to get up and leave. They stop us and tell us to wait a moment, just enough time to ask the kitchen if they still have pasta. A minute later, miraculously, they tell us that it's possible to order pasta. We order a pasta starter and a fish main course. Around 8 PM, the tables start to fill up (there's always the same waiter who shows each table the fish starter), we notice that most of the tables have ordered pasta. The first and second courses are good, but that's not how it's done. (If you want to show off the fish, it should be covered, not freely displayed.)
