29/09/2024: Sunday lunch with the family after mass in Montenero.
The place has not changed over the years (I had lunch here in 2012 and everything remained the same), and the space has remained almost identical, especially in the internal/main room.
We were welcomed calmly and made to sit on the external veranda, albeit "close" to the bathroom (there was no room, and the other tables had already been booked).
The menu was relatively limited (if I remember correctly, it changed every day/every week), about 5 dishes for each course, a bit "binding", but with the possibility of gluten-free dishes, a factor not to be underestimated.
We opted for 4 first courses and 3 side dishes.
The bread arrived in very "tight" quantities, almost micro-slices, with some tarallo, which were themselves microscopic.
The service was fast and constantly present but, in themselves, the dishes did not completely satisfy our "expectations": the "PASTA DEL CONTADINO" was very good and in the right quantity, and the "AGNELLOTTI CANAPONE", simple ravioli of ricotta and spinach with ragù (presumably sautéed with cream or bechamel, but in any case not "classic") which, although in small quantities, were more or less appreciated.
The disappointment came with the side dishes: leaving aside the small portion of french fries, and a good "VEGETABLE STEW" (vegetables sautéed in a pan), the dish that disappointed us most was the "SPINACH FLAN", whose dimensions are easily understandable from the attached photos, and which do not justify the €8.00 requested at all.
For the final price (€100, of which €16 cover charge only for 4 people), I don't feel like recommending the place very much, especially if you want to eat "a little" (or rather, enough). We filled our stomachs with an ice cream by the sea, well aware that we had not ordered a second course at the restaurant due (also) to a question of price and taste.
