It was a pleasant discovery and one thing is certain…. We will return soon, bringing our relatives too. The owner is serious and competent; I take this opportunity to thank him for purchasing the wines. All three bottles were better than the other. Try it and believe it.

Immersi nell'atmosfera accogliente e curata del Conte Matto, abbiamo intrapreso un vero e proprio viaggio gastronomico nel cuore della Toscana, con un affascinante sguardo alle raffinatezze della cucina rinascimentale. Il Conte matto is not a place easily comparable to others because here there really is a pinch of madness but also a lot of talent. I've been going there for 20 years and the pigeon, the main reason why I frequent it besides the terrace, makes me get over the sometimes slow service and some dishes that aren't always perfect but the choice of raw materials is rigorous (it's no coincidence that you have to order the snails because it takes them 4 days to find them) and the wine list denotes the effort to go beyond the usual labels. Last time the surprise was the aperitif with Chianti vermouth.

Frankly I wasn't thrilled, limited menu and dishes with strong flavors apart from a few exceptions. Furthermore, it is difficult, if not almost impossible, to find parking spaces

Già stati anni fa la scelta di tornare qui è stata ricompensata a pieni voti. Abbiamo preso la selezione di prosciutti...3 uno più buono dell'altro...poi mio marito ha preso l'agnello con la cicoria...buonissimo e porzione generosa...io la scottiglia...buonissima anche quella anche se non c'era tanta carne...il tutto accompagnato da una bottiglietta di nobile di montepulciano...buonissimo anche questo...caffè e conto...110€

25/05/2025: A very memorable and traditional trattoria. Rubel and the team are so welcoming and attentive and the food is prepared beautifully. We ordered the mouthwatering tagliatelle with wild boar ragu, roast pork, veal and the best side of peas we’ve tasted in a long time. We loved it so much that we revisited the next evening and ordered the tagliatelle with venison, peas, spinach and finished with an excellent tiramisu. I highly recommend this trattoria for an authentic and memorable dining experience
17/05/2025: The best ragù pasta experience we’ve had on our trip to Italy so far. The wine paired perfectly with the food, adding to an already memorable meal. The customer service was excellent, and I especially loved that we were the only tourists there at lunch – it felt authentic and special to be dining among local customers. Well priced also.
