RISTORANTE BABBO’S In Roma

The server was haughty and unpleasant. Made no effort to help us understand the dishes on the menu. Disdainful. The service was slow. However, the dishes were tasty and well presented.

Roman Holiday 2025 We returned to Rome after two years and without hesitation returned to Babbo's on Via Volturno. We were once again greeted by the restaurant manager, Piero, who gave us a warm welcome with a glass of Prosecco DOC to celebrate our return to the capital. We opted for an excellent seafood salad, followed by a divine fried calamari and shrimp dish... I believe I can safely say that this restaurant truly deserves to become international, not only for the quality of its ingredients and the freshness of its daily catch, but also for Mr. Piero's remarkable ability to interact with an international clientele. Speaking five languages ​​(English, Russian, Arabic, French, and German), he ensures excellent service at all times, and we are grateful for his dedication and willingness to serve our guests. - absolutely faultless - & the primitivo is fabulous

In our 11 days in Rome, we went to this restaurant twice. Mostly to confirm its worthiness of a 5 star review. Both times, we had very different dishes. Pasta the first time, lasagne and carbonara. And the second time we had beef and fish. In every respect this restaurant delivered excellent food and service. Authentic Italian service, which you may require knowledge of to understand the charm. We ate outdoors both times, and you are well shielded from both sun and general passers by. Nothing special about the atmosphere, but comfortable enough. It was our first night meal, and our last night meal. Fantastic both times.

Excellent value for money. Plenty of choice on the menu, generous portions, and excellent wines at reasonable prices. The only issue was the temperature of the red wine. It was too warm. This was, of course, resolved by temporarily placing it in a wine cooler, but the wine and the food themselves were delicious!

I really enjoyed the shrimp urizo and seafood tomato stew~ I ate it with fresh kimchi, but it wasn't very kind.

Very nice place with amazingly good looking and delicious food. Surly we'll come back to try their "carbonara". Risotto and pasta with clams was finger licking good!

The best restaurant in all of Rome

We had chosen a fish at the counter. I asked for the approximate price. The waiter told us about €35, but we paid €64! Admittedly, fresh fish isn't cheap, but the waiter should have known that €35 wasn't enough. The vegetable side dish—four slices of zucchini and one slice of eggplant—cost €6 per person, which is considerably too much. The real highlight came at the end, with a €12 service charge. The value for money isn't right here, so we can't recommend this restaurant.
