Well-kept place and home-made food

Well, until the bill, "WE DO NOT MAKE SEPARATE ACCOUNTS" is written on a crumpled piece of paper taped to the table with no revenue stamp, as required by the public notices, and the cashier repeats this to me. There are three of us with different menus, and I say separate bills. As a concession, the person on the other end smugly produces the separate bills, telling me that many restaurants do that... I ask where? The answer is, "We go to restaurants too." This is the controversy at the cashier. I don't drink there anymore... too bad. Ps. I've had separate bills.
