I got there pretty early on a Monday dinner service. I ordered some Pasta and a pork dish. The bread was amazing, the pasta and sauce was nice. The pork and eggplant was yummy. I had a desert although I forgot what it was, it was amazing. I could have had another bowl. The cook was very friendly and the owner was as well. Nice ambience. When I return to Naples, I'll be returning here.

Wow!! A super family-friendly, delicious, and special little restaurant. The dog is a bonus—tame and ready to be petted. The two owners are the hosts, waitress, and cook, and welcome you with warm charm. If it weren't our last evening in Naples, we would have come here more often—highly recommended. Visiting Il Dirretore during the quiet off-season was great. With the regular staff on vacation, the owners run the entire operation themselves and the restaurant was transformed into an incredibly intimate space. Dining felt less like eating out and more like being welcomed into a warm Neapolitan home with the friendly dog included. The service wasn't just attentive; it was convivial - friendly, lively, and enjoyable. The hearty, authentic dishes were prepared with the pride and skill of the family chef. Il Direttore offered me a deeply emotional experience that combine hearty Italian cooking with profound human connection above all else. A definite must-visit.

When you get tired of the pizzas and the pasta carbonara that tastes the same in every restaurant then come here. Just like the other reviews, the staff is amazing and the dishes are simply good. Don't have to break the bank and the owner will teach you a trick or two from the local area. We were basically the only ones there this evening which made it seem like we had a private chef. The dog Oliver is a sweety and well trained. Better than any other restaurant we've tried so far. We will be coming back.

Just grate, the food the service

This is probably the best hospitality i’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Simoné is an extremely generous human and was so welcoming. We pretty much had a private dinner session, with Simoné even going to a restaurant next door and surprising us with snacks on the house. We could not have asked for a better dining experience, a trip to Naples is worth it for this alone.

The director and his wife are very kind and attentive, great atmosphere, very friendly and authentic, I really recommend.

We were greeted by Simoné, the director, and his dog Oliver. He took time to chat with us and treated to the most wonderful dinner experience. He even offered to make something for us off the menu when it came up in our conversation. The food was delicious and a wonderful representation of the local cuisine. An absolute 10/10 experience! I’d come back every night if I could.
