Excellent amatriciana and a simple and welcoming place

A corner of paradise. Via del Mandrione is a small world apart, and Trattoria dell'Accattone couldn't be found anywhere else. From our table on a scorching July day it almost felt like we were in the countryside for a moment. The food is excellent, all dishes are prepared and served with a mix of elegance and simplicity. It is a restaurant, yes, but the quality target is very high. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The price is online. Recommended, I will try to go back in the evening too... booking recommended

Nice and welcoming place. Marco the owner is a lovely person. My first bonus was for the large and above all clean bathroom (which is very rare in Roman restaurants). Second bonus for the food and the bill with an excellent price-quality ratio of the food. My third bonus for the 2 bitters offered (which is rare). The restaurant is family-run: Marco, mum, dad and brother. Absolutely worth trying. Giuseppe Stirparo…. Thursday evening (06/20/24) I returned to this Trattoria... which has very little of a trattoria: instead it is an excellent restaurant. Mrs. Francesca, Marco's mother, is an excellent "Maître de Salle": beautiful and very kind... she had a lot of patience with me. New for me: a wonderful HOT CAPRESE with crunchy wafer, superb Accattone tonnarelli, bruschetta with porcini mushrooms which I found excellent (Marco confessed to being French and not Calabrian to a CALABRIAN😁) and finally with the warm weather "strawberries from NEMI with ice cream. Incantevole "trattoria" posta in un piccolo angolo di tranquillità, ai piedi del parco dell'Appia Antica. Buona possibilità di parcheggio, che a Roma è sempre un must! In estate si mangia fuori, coccolati dall'oste. Un ragazzo giovane, intelligente e soprattutto molto preparato. La cucina è di alto livello. Ricerca della materia prima e ottima preparazione dei piatti. Esperienza garantita! Fa piacere quando si trova un locale da dove ti alzi da tavolo soddisfatto. Torneremo!

Patrizia e Roberto ci hanno inviato in questa trattoria e siamo rimasti entusiasti per il cibo (vedete solo la mia orata, ma tutto era eccellente). Pranzare con amici di lunga data significa "condire" il cibo con le chiacchiere: niente di più bello. 🌸
