This is Rome's hidden gem! We were lucky to find it while looking for a place to just chill after our tour in the Vatican. The place is super friendly and welcoming. Wine selection and recommendations are spot on! I love their spritz too! We just thought we'll have a couple glasses of wine, ended with 6! Try the dolci with ricotta. Saving this for the next trip.

A wonderful little hostaria with just a few tables. Delicious Roman cuisine, a selection of good wines by the glass. Particularly memorable were the porcini mushroom soup and tiramisu.

A warm welcome in a modern atmosphere just minutes from St. Peter's, and gourmet food from the owner, a passionate chef, including classic Roman dishes like carbonara. A great spot for aperitifs or happy hour!

We’re Asians and don’t speak Italian. The staff and chef at this local restaurant were very kind and friendly. The food was excellent, especially the Fettucine Boscaiola (truffle sauce with mushrooms) which was so so good. The chef also offered us complimentary truffles (I think) for dessert. The price was very reasonable, just 27 eur for two pastas and water. It was a very nice experience and def worth the walk from the Vatican.

23/02/2026: We went to La Francescana for lunch on Sunday and had a great time. We had a gricia and a carbonara and enjoyed both. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and we also really appreciated the attentive service given to our daughter. They brought her tortellini in broth first, and only then did our dishes arrive. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but this was very convenient because it allowed us to take care of her first and then eat ourselves without having to leave our dishes cold. We ate outside because the weather permitted, and we had a great time: the area is quiet and pleasant. Overall, it was a great experience, and we'll gladly return.
22/02/2026: We enjoyed the food a lot. Fresh, good portion, fair price. The pasta was tasty and the grilled squid was excellent

19/02/2026: We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant next to our hotel.
17/02/2026: On both occasions we've been to Rome, we've had dinner at Alessio's. We had very good, plentiful traditional dishes, and the staff was truly friendly. I highly recommend it!
