A paradise, also suitable for children. Welcoming, with good and plentiful cuisine. Waking up to the red-tinted Dolomites is a dream. Nature-friendly management.

During a mountain hike in Forni di Sopra al Varmost, we stopped at the Rifugio Sor Picol for a break, good coffee, and delicious homemade cakes, all surrounded by the panorama of the Friulian Dolomites. Fantastic. We'd also love to have lunch there. Highly recommended.

A pleasant stop at this refuge, which I wasn't familiar with. Pleasant and rustic atmosphere, well-kept, good table service. Traditional local dishes, in harmony with the mountain ⛰... The tagliatelle with venison ragù is very good 🦌, the cured meats and cheeses are excellent... Affordable and not excessive prices. Ample playground for children and for guests to relax. Suitable for all ages, including families. If you're vacationing in Forni di Sopra, this place is worth a stop...

The ricotta and dandelion tart and the gluten-free apple and peach tart are mouth-watering. Excellent homemade elderflower syrup and a wide selection of homemade grappas.

It's a beautiful refuge, very well equipped for relaxing on sunny days, with wooden chaise lounges, large ottomans, and deck chairs. The meals are excellent and original. The staff are very friendly and cheerful.
