Rifugio Pederù In Marebbe

Starting point for several hikes. Bus service to St. Vigil every 20 minutes. Please note: Arrival by car: toll fee €13.00. Free for hotel guests. A very nice hut, more like a hotel. Very friendly staff and delicious food. Everything is very clean. Book your overnight stay well in advance.

The Pederü mountain inn is located directly on the Dolomites High Route Alta via 1. Overall, the stage from there to the Fanes Hut is a very popular one. The apple strudel was delicious. Thanks also to the waiter, who remained friendly despite the terrace being fully booked. The value for money here is fair – you can pay by card.

Exceptional location and good food

Staff not overly warm. But not unhelpful. This was our first stop on AV1. Dinner wasn't included so we paid for dinner which was expensive but very very good. Free showers. Soap. Bathmats. The room we were in was large and well set up to accommodate everyone in the room - eg space for bags, PowerPoint's, shelf/Bedside Tables. Breakfast was ample and delightful- yummy doughnuts and freshly baked bread.

We stopped here for lunch - the Wiener schnitzel was fantastic, as was the mixed greens salad with pomegranate and walnut. They have nice rest areas with swings and the like for kids.

Stunning location, very friendly and welcoming staff. Food was amazing and the room was very clean with a brilliant view of the mountains. We loved our stay and highly recommend!!

I stayed there for three nights, and the drive through the valley, with its steep cliffs and mountains on both sides, is a highlight in itself. The location and surroundings are absolutely incredible. There are cattle and horses in the valley that you can see roaming freely in the woods, and there's also a fenced meadow right next to the inn, so it's not uncommon to be woken up by the mooing of cows in the morning. This is also the perfect starting point for hikes to the Sennes Plateau or the Fanes Plateau.

Beautiful terrace, good service. A slice of cake with whipped cream at €7.50 is too expensive. We're not on the mountain, but in the valley, accessible by regular car.
