At the foot of massive mountain scenery, wonderful! Very good food and drink! Friendly, nice innkeepers. Recommended!

Great meal after the strenuous mountain hike 5*****

We went to their restaurant on a day at the end of August. We had arrived by bus starting from San Vigilio to avoid having to pay for parking and access. The hotel appears very nice and the surrounding areas are very well looked after: there are also games for children, a fountain and the fact that you arrive there by stream makes everything almost fairytale-like. However, our intention was to leave from there and get to another refuge, but halfway there it started to rain and we chose to turn back (a good choice because then a storm hit). On our way back we thought about having lunch there, but we were disappointed: at 2pm the kitchen was closed, the pizzas were finished, there were only a few flavors of ice cream, some sandwiches and platters of cold cuts so we opted for the cold cuts. We were a little taken aback, because it appears to be an almost luxury place compared to other refuges. Perhaps due to the rain there were a greater number of customers than expected. The cured meats were very good, the service not too fast, but the waiters were very kind. I can't comment on the rooms because we didn't stay there. The prices are medium-high in general, which I understand when supplies are difficult, but in this case everything can arrive easily on an asphalted and inexplicable road. There is no cell phone service on site, but it is still possible to pay by card because they have a connection (not intended for restaurant customers).

The place was pleasant with the possibility of eating outdoors, the view of the Dolomites was pleasant and the raspberry panna cotta was very pleasant 😋. Recommended ✔️

A great starting point for a nice lunch after a fantastic hike

My friends and I stayed here for the first night of our Alta Via 1 hike. No private rooms were available so we had a bunk room but our roommates were great and there was plenty of space in the room for everyone's backpacks and things so we could feel organized and not cramped. The bathrooms were communal but super clean and enough bathrooms for the amount of beds so we did not have to wait in line (which later we did and it got so annoying as it wasn't short waits). Enough about the rooms as the real star here was the food and the warm welcome the host family and staff provided. David went above and beyond to make recommendations about what to order and even almost missed his bus by bringing us our food and making sure nothing got missed in his transition even when his shift was over. The beautiful scenery and the people you meet along the way is what will stand out in your memories and David certainly was one of those that will remain in our minds and hearts for enriching our great experience.
