I have been linked to the Rifugio Menaggio since my childhood because we “vacationed” in Plesio. Now that I am (almost) 60 years old and have a house in Plesio, the views from the refuge and the surrounding destinations still excite me. It had been a long time since I had lunch there and I give them full marks. Polenta uncia and apple pie prepared with passion, coffee from the moka and genepy completed a very pleasant lunch. I have seen negative comments about the service and friendliness, but I think that if you want to be served and revered in Comolake style, I suggest staying to drink a spritz on the lakeside in Menaggio.

Beautiful experience in this refuge with an incredible view of Lake Como. Greta and Dario were super welcoming and kind and we felt at home. We ate very well. We recommend it

Very beautiful refuge for the breathtaking and unique view of the Bellagio peninsula and Lake Como. The food is typical of a mountain refuge and still good! The climb takes place along two paths, the upper and lower routes, I followed the latter which is of moderate difficulty. You can park either in the Breglia mountains, costing €3 to travel along the road or in Breglia (but from here the route is longer than 3km uphill) Absolutely recommended place for those who love walking

Characteristic dishes of the Lombardy mountains, simple but tasty. Terrace with fantastic view! Must visit!

We spent a night at the refuge, the last Sunday of the season, and there were only two of us with no other customers. We ate for lunch and the food was excellent at a reasonable price. Then we ate in the evening and Greta, the manager, welcomed us wonderfully. He made pizzoccheri for us even though it was just the two of us... It was delicious and the service was great. Greta is really adorable. We'll be back!

19/02/2025: Simply the best THAI in Como, there are no fuss and there is no competition... if you want a real Thai experience in Como come here (but call first to secure a table) 😉
05/02/2025: Positive experience with the feeling that it could be better. The place is quite modern but not elegant, with interesting prints and masks but without too much attention to detail (for example the wine is served in simple trattoria glasses). The service is friendly, informal and unobtrusive, without too many details. We enjoyed almost all the food we ordered (we wouldn't choose the octopus again), without any particular mention. Not many choices on wine but we were pleasantly surprised by the bottle chosen (we didn't know the cellar but good value for money). Overall, an appreciable place where you are comfortable both in a shirt and a T-shirt.

09/02/2025: The choice of cocktails is very particular: the list is long and they are all themed. You certainly have the opportunity to spend an alternative and fun evening. The waiters are helpful and very knowledgeable. The only (big) flaw: when we ordered they warned us that, starting from the moment the drink arrived, we would have to clear the table in an hour... I understand everything, but it doesn't seem correct to me, much less kind, to give customers an hour to consume everything, and then send them away, or force them to reorder again. They take advantage of it a little too much...
