Rifugio Menaggio In Plesio

Delicious food and great hospitality! The view alone is worth it, but the food and cozy atmosphere make it even better.

After all the climbing, arriving and seeing the refuge is heartwarming. Breathtaking views, good food, and the people who work there are truly welcoming.

Wonderful experience at Rifugio Menaggio! My girlfriend and I had a wonderful lunch, surrounded by a spectacular view of Lake Como. The hospitality and cuisine were exceptional. Highly recommended!

04/01/2025 We parked in Plesio near the Mulini Spinzi (620 m) just after passing the Chiarella Mineral Water plant. The trail immediately climbs steeply and in about 2 hours leads to the Menaggio refuge. It's about 700 meters of elevation gain, constantly accompanied by breathtaking views of the lake. The food at the refuge is excellent, and the atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

I stayed at the Rif on December 31st, 2025, so we had dinner and slept there. Thanks to its beautiful location above the lake, the view is stunning. The owners are truly friendly and hospitable; they treat everyone like friends, not just customers. The food was also very good (the homemade cakes were delicious).

A lovely refuge where you can have lunch after a long (and somewhat strenuous) climb. The food is reasonably good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The refuge is located in a very scenic area. Other trails leading to higher altitudes depart from the refuge.

I passed by here on Monday before climbing to the top of Grona and I had lunch there while I was coming down, the girl is very kind, the view is wonderful and I ate and drank very well, congratulations 👌 I will gladly return

A refuge where you eat (and drink) like a refuge! Climbing from Monti di Plesio, you reach the refuge, which offers a priceless view of both branches of the Lario. The menu includes polenta with stew, sausage, cheese, eggs, and, of course, polenta uncia. There are also platters of cold cuts, cheese, or a mix. We ordered a spritz...the alcoholic one we've ever tasted! The effort to get there is amply rewarded.
