Ottima struttura , bellissimo il camino in sala , travi a vista , personale sempre presente , piatti buonissimi , polenta eccezionale .

Trattoria tipica a conduzione familiare. Oltre alla polenta gialla o nera con vari accompagnamenti, ottimi primi con diversi condimenti. Dolci fatti in casa. Mirtilli sempre freschi, in stagione, di coltivazione propria. È possibile acquistare anche marmellate e succhi di frutta.

We were pleasantly surprised. I have been frequenting this valley for a long time and I had never had lunch at the refuge. A simple and welcoming environment, a nice fire and a pot of boiling polenta, a mountain hut menu and a good red wine, all at an appropriate price. Better to book, you might find others who think like me...

Ottima cena al rifugio Il Focolare Antipasto vigezzino (ricotta, salumi, peperoni con tonno, cipolline). Rustico del focolare (ravioli ripieni di porri e crudo di Vigezzo) discreto, molto buona la Polenta con cervo e cinghiale e gran finale con la “Lauscera”, sottofiletto manzo e lonzino di maiale cotti su pietra ollare al tavolo. Vini in bottiglia, anche locali, di qualità a prezzi convenienti. Servizio semplice e attento, prezzi onesti, cibo davvero buono con ricette locali tradizionali.

23/06/2025: It's been a long time since I stopped by, but nothing has changed. Good food, friendly staff. As per the photo, Deasy was also happy when she tasted the roast beef
11/06/2025: The food isn't à la carte, but rather a set menu (3 dishes to choose from). Very friendly service, reasonable prices, large portions, and typical Italian cuisine.

06/07/2025: Wonderful restaurant and the service is exceptional. Risotto all a saffron was authentic. Beautiful and lively piazza. Our Cameriere Eleanora was delightful and charming.
