To tell the truth, I climbed Monte Penna dry. Ribbons of snow on the summit, very strong winds and whiteout. Next objective is a 3,500 meter peak. Bye, neither.

I like this place. They're helpful and friendly, the food is excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable. They're dog-friendly.

The refuge is a must-see for anyone visiting the area. It's an excellent base for numerous excursions, with a beautiful location in the middle of the forest. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable.

I've been to the Casermette del Penna refuge several times for refreshments and have noticed a very familiar and welcoming atmosphere... extremely kind and helpful staff; the cold cuts and cheese platters and aperitifs are excellent, as are the craft beers, on tap or for sale in bottles, which I bought and, according to my dad, are delicious... (I don't usually drink beer); the thick hot chocolate is excellent! The environment is all wooden with a wonderful view of Mount Penna! I have a house in Santo Stefano 'Aveto, but I would really like to experience sleeping in this refuge, I found the atmosphere very warm and pleasant!

A fantastic place to relax, with no cell phone reception (beautiful)....but there's Wi-Fi throughout the property...very kind and helpful staff, excellent food, and good prices even for staying on site. Possibility of hiking, e-bike riding, and motorcycle riding, all very beautiful, and climbing nearby Monte Penna offers a breathtaking view...try it and believe it.

Well needed wine pairings make it be the One in an otherwise so poor restaurant panorama . A little treasure absolutely to be discovered!

29/10/2025: Really nice service, the lady in the glasses spoke really good english and was really nice. The food was also very tasty, portions are big and prices are really reasonable. Highly recommend this place. I would came back if i had opportunity.
