Rattopenugo Bistrot In Albenga

Excellent Sardinian cuisine (and more) in the heart of Albenga's historic center. Discovered by chance, this small restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, just steps from the medieval cathedral and baptistery. The fresh pasta with game ragù, veal with tuna sauce, and seadas (typical Sardinian pasta) are excellent.

Excellent food, prepared with ancient wisdom. Beautiful, serene atmosphere. We'll be back for more gourmet experiences. Highly recommended!

I visited Rattopenugo with a dear friend after hearing great things about it. Expectations were high, but I must say they were even exceeded. The restaurant is located in the heart of Albenga's historic center, in the city's most beautiful square, with a picturesque view of the church and the recently restored medieval towers. The atmosphere is simple yet elegant, with the option of outdoor seating right in the main square, a setting that makes the experience even more special. The service is impeccable: the waiters are quick and friendly, but what really makes the difference is Lorenzo, the owner. He's a delightful person, able to immediately understand his guests' needs and recommend not only the dishes, but also the perfect wine and beverage pairings. We started by sharing a plate of fresh homemade tagliolini with anchovy and bottarga sauce: simply extraordinary, both for the texture of the pasta and the richness and intensity of the sauce. Next, two incredibly fresh fish, caught the day before, cooked to perfection and with an unmistakable flavor. We loved it so much that, instead of dessert, we opted for another pasta dish, accompanied by a second bottle of wine. A true triumph of flavor! In short, an exceptional experience. I think it's the best restaurant I've been to in Albenga and one of the best I've ever tried. Superb quality at a fair price. Highly recommended!

Passing through Albenga, we dined at Rattopenugo. A welcoming restaurant, both inside and out, with tasty and unique dishes and attentive and fast service. Centrally located in the beautiful historic town of Albenga.

A beautiful place. A piazza atmosphere. Impeccable service and good value. Beautiful decor and comfortable tables. The place has its own character. The Malbec was ideal, but I'm taking away a few stars for the dish. The grilled mutton wasn't cooked well; it should have been left on the grill a bit longer, and the portion size was also too small, both meat and potatoes (side).

We had dinner at this restaurant last night. We're from Albenga and have always walked past it, saying, "We have to try it sometime!" Well, we tried it last night and will definitely be back. The atmosphere is cute, relaxed, and welcoming, right in the center of Albenga. The dishes are tasty and well-prepared, so we stopped for the appetizer and first course because they were plentiful. The service was courteous and friendly, and the price was fair for the quality. We'll definitely be back.
