Mine is an experience from a few years ago. I have excellent memories of it both for the food and for the courtesy and competence in the service.

During one of the last opening evenings we chose the 8-course tasting menu with pairings of wines offered, a good, varied and refined menu with particular ingredients and combinations that enriched the experience. Very quaint and well looked after, friendly and helpful staff. Too bad about the closure, I hope to rediscover your dishes in a new location

We had dinner towards the end of December 2023 and had a very good time, I didn't rate the rooms because we only stayed for dinner. However, the experience certainly lived up to expectations, at the same time I want to talk about the way in which the menu is chosen and in which it is then proposed, before getting to the desserts, to taste some cheese, put yourself in my shoes: at the beginning of the experience choose the menu you want, with a more than satisfactory wine accompaniment, in addition to the menu we also chose to start with a very good vermouth as an aperitif, the fact is that both the initial aperitif and the menu and the wines, they are illustrated at the time of the initial choice so they should already configure what will follow...despite this, before getting to the desserts the waitress comes to us asking verbatim: "do you want to try some cheeses before dessert?" so seeing the occasion of the dinner and not knowing exactly what it is about, because when at the beginning of the experience we believe we have already chosen how much we will then eat and spend, we felt like nodding...result : we are brought very thin slices of various cheeses of various consistencies of good workmanship and taste, for which however we are made to pay 50 euros in the final bill and which are added to the total already estimated at the beginning of the dinner... mine is not exactly a criticism, it is an exposition of the facts which in any case made me turn up my nose... I would like to underline that when you dine in a place like this it is not the 50 euros that make the difference, you should still plan to spend a certainly commensurate amount to the service that is given, however I did not like the method of "proposing a tasting of cheeses": if at the beginning of the dinner I choose an experience and consequently the price displayed, in these cases I would appreciate that instead of "diving in" the current dinner proposal should at least be explained to me that it is an "extra" and not included in the menu I chose instead of finding the surprise figure on the bill at the end of the evening. The last thing I want to point out is that the penultimate wine that was served to us, being already open and almost towards the end of the bottle, when it was poured to my partner it reflected the dose of the glass, but, when it was poured to I had practically finished the bottle, so my glass was much smaller than that of my partner... honestly, if I had been the waiter, noticing the difference in the glasses, I would have at least offered another glass for the difference that emerged, I don't think the owner would not have agreed to this kindness which would certainly have earned more attention for the customer... with this I still want to say that the experience was positive which is why I still felt like giving the maximum score... The things I have specified are only intended as a starting point for improving small things that are nevertheless noticed. We were discreet customers, we enjoyed the evening and I paid the bill presented to me without batting an eyelid, but one certainly expects high service and attention to detail from a restaurant of this level. Thanks anyway for the nice experience.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the surprise menu at Osteria Del Povero Diavolo last weekend and it was a wonderful evening.
Everything was really right, the ambience, the staff explained the individual courses in English and the menu was fantastic.

I had the pleasure of having lunch at Osteria poor devil recently and the experience was exceptional.
The staff is impeccable, they pampered us and explained the wines and dishes.
We chose a meat and fish menu: all courses were excellent.
The cuttlefish on the fish menu melted in your mouth, the dessert on the meat menu was a fairytale.
I really appreciated that they suggested we include a platter of typical cheeses between the second course and the pre-dessert.
I recommend everyone to visit the restaurant (while you can) and to follow the chef to the next location.

Accoglienza impeccabile e servizio altrettanto attento e professionale.
Ambiente carino, gradevole la sala con il camino.
Pietanze particolari e gradevoli al sapore.
Unica osservazione che sollevo (premettendo che era tutto buono) riguarda il menù a discrezione dello chef (che peraltro abbiamo scelto) di cui non ho capito il senso di presentare un riassunto di alcune portate di mare e altre di terra che erano presenti negli altri menù creando un insieme di sapori a mio gusto fin troppo particolari.

I will judge with a vote from 1 to 10 different characteristics of the restaurant:
-LOCATION=10
The dining room is truly comfortable, it creates the right atmosphere to make you feel at home together with the warmth of the fireplace 🔥
-CLEANING=10
The bathroom, the living room, the kitchen were perfectly looked after; the kitchen is easily observable and the cooks constantly cleaned it, while the waiters even removed crumbs from the tables with special tools. As for the bathroom, it's cleaner than the one in the white house 🏛
- SERVICE=9
The waiters are always available, kind, quick and very very professional. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is regarding the description of the wines; I would have preferred greater attention to the details of the product and emphasis on explaining its flavor and aroma (which in my opinion greatly influences the flavor of the wine. A wine with a well-made description adds value and taste) 🍷
- PRICES=10
As for the prices I have nothing to say, they are perfectly in line 🤝🏼
- REACHABILITY=8
For those coming from Rimini or even Santarcangelo the road to travel by car is rather steep and bumpy. I recommend going in the afternoon, also because this way you can admire the view better 🌄
- MENU= 7/
Unfortunately, I think the sore point is the menu. I chose the meat menu, where my ratings are:
○ bread, breadsticks and welcome starter = 9 (perfect and delicious, but as they are secondary I won't go beyond 9)
○ first course of meat = 10 (certainly the best dish)
○ second course of meat (tortellini in broth) = 8- (very delicate, but not with an intense flavor that would leave you speechless. The flavor of the cheese was not invasive, but the broth was too weak)
○ third course of meat (part of the fillet? Unfortunately I don't remember exactly) = 5 (that sauce was too, too, too bitter! The cooking was perfect and the meat was not at all chewy; but the sauce was bitter and covered the flavor of the meat, forcing you to drink water several times)
○ pre-dessert and dessert: 5- (the pre-dessert had a messy taste, the foam did not mix well with the rest of the ingredients. The dessert would have been discreet, but the flavor of the ice cream was also too bitter and, combined with the melted chocolate, it made the dessert challenging to eat.)
The total average of the votes is therefore 7/🍱
- WINES= 9-
I'm not a wine expert, but I really liked them. I'm removing votes only for the explanation I already said in the SERVICE 👆🏼
In general:
Very comfortable place, with the right atmosphere to make you feel at home. The management is excellent, both on the part of the waiters and on the part of the rapid and punctual email service. The menu needs improvement, reevaluating preparation procedures, some sauces and in particular the desserts.
My overall rating is...8/ super full! Approved 🟢

We had dinner and stayed overnight, the tavern is in an easily accessible hamlet, suggestive and with a beautiful view. Being three people we were able to try each of the three possible gastronomic options: fish, meat and chef's choice. I would say that each of the three streets ensures a positive and unforgettable experience, also being able to taste what is different about the diners. Despite the "tasting" portions, we were all full at the end of dinner. The service is very present but not oppressive, bread and drinks were promptly refilled for each of us. The wines offered are up to the level of the menu. In the morning, for those who have stayed overnight there is an abundant sweet and savory breakfast. I can't add anything other than the advice to drop by. Prices and menus are online, I won't quibble about these, the chef's menu is a surprise but some dishes were the same as the meat menu.

I had already reviewed Osteria del Povero Diavolo with 5 stars. However, it is not a judgment that honors him!
I come back here every year but this time I immediately perceived something more: the atmosphere, the service and above all the cuisine are now at another level.
The chef prepared an 8-course all-vegetarian menu for my wife, simply sublime. Innovative combinations, flavors and aromas that reach straight to the heart and lots of territory.
In short, dear my Michelin guides, I think the time has perhaps come for the 2 *…
