I've often passed this place, but looking at it from the outside, I wouldn't have bet a penny on it. Today we decided to try it, and what can I say? It was a surprising and delightful discovery. Everything was delicious and fresh (I've attached photos), and the staff was courteous and very attentive. Service was incredibly fast; we had lunch in about an hour. The bill was very fair...what can I say? We'll definitely be back. Oh, and I almost forgot, the soufflé with ice cream is a blast. The coffees are complimentary, courtesy of the owner.

Good, authentic food. We stopped here for lunch. Unfortunately, we weren't greeted warmly from the start; there were 2-3 free tables; the rest of the few tables they had (about 5) were occupied. We had to wait about ten minutes to order, and another 15 minutes to eat. The service was extremely slow and inattentive on the part of the ladies. The owner, however, was kind and cheerful. You have to come here for the food. Good grilled fish, quality ingredients. Amazing octopus alla pignata (in a pan). Interesting first courses, but I didn't try them, so I can't comment. I liked the burnt wheat spaghetti visually. I'd return to try the first courses and try the octopus again.

We immediately saw a typical Apulian restaurant in this wonderful square. We couldn't have chosen a better experience. Fantastic.

Delicious!!! We loved everything: the setting, the atmosphere, the welcome, and of course, the delicious food. We had the fava bean purée, ravioli, and spaghetti allo scoglio. For dessert, a spumoncino and a soufflé. It's truly the best restaurant since we started our trip to Puglia. Thank you.

Last night, August 21, 2025, we had dinner at this restaurant. A simple, well-kept place with excellent cuisine. We had a great time; all the dishes were tasty, so the experience was absolutely pleasant.

I went to this place last night with five friends. Everything was impeccable, from the service, to the good wine (Falanghina), to the excellent food. Excellent fried food, exceptional quality of appetizers, and exceptional first and second courses. We tried the fava bean puree, swordfish, mussel sauté, seafood pasta, vegetarian ravioli, scialatielli, and seared tuna. I also highly recommend the fig dessert. The value for money is exceptional: we spent around €30 each. What can I say...if you ever find yourself in the area, this is a must-try! P.S. The portions are truly generous!

01/09/2025: We were there last night, we bought a portion of chips and two portions of pasta with fish, water and local alcohol. Everything was good, we will be back.
28/08/2025: Unfortunately, it was a dinner I won't remember. The gratin mussels, which I only discovered were Spanish afterward, as the waiter explained it to another table, were completely overshadowed by the gratin cheese. The fried mussels weren't fried, they were boiled (I'll leave you a photo). The bill, in my opinion, was excessive for the quality, which, alas, I didn't find in the dishes. The positives: the staff were friendly throughout the service, the homemade cake was delicious, and the fennel liqueur they kindly gave us for free.

MATISSE

04/09/2025: Really enjoyed our evening here. The food was delicious and there was a good menu with good choices. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The wine recommendation was very good and we enjoyed the wine. We returned 2 days later and had the same wonderful experience. Sadly we must return home so cannot return to Matisse but would highly recommend it. Grazie.
03/09/2025: My roots are in Salento, but I live in the north, and every summer I can't leave without dining at Matisse. It never disappoints; everything is perfect, with a menu that's meticulously crafted in both quality and presentation. The staff is professional and attentive. They never disappoint; every time it's a pleasant and tasty discovery. Well done.
