12/10/2025: Nice restaurant and have eaten here before, but unfortunately they didn't have room the last time we went there (despite empty tables at 10pm) it felt like the staff wanted a quiet end to the evening and couldn't bear to have full tables until closing. But maybe a visit next time. :)
11/10/2025: If you're looking for a pizzeria 🍕 where flavor, hospitality, and food safety go hand in hand, Man.Gia at Via Ottone Bacaredda 34 is a true gem. Here are my top recommendations:
✅ Strengths
1. 100% gluten-free:
All pizzas, desserts, and many menu items are strictly gluten-free (in some cases even lactose-free). This makes it an excellent choice not only for those with intolerances, but also for those who want to try something different.
2. Quality of the dough:
Many customers comment on the "light" dough, "well-leavened," "thin with a high crust," yet balanced: despite the toppings, it remains digestible.
3. Refined ingredients and flavors:
Fresh ingredients, popular desserts (e.g., Torta della Nonna, pistachio cheesecake, Sacher Torte), and a carefully selected selection of gluten-free beers.
4. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff:
The place is described as informal yet warm, with attentive, friendly staff, ready to put you at ease, especially those with specific dietary needs.
5. Reasonable value:
It's not a low-cost pizzeria, but many customers find the quality, variety, service, and safety worth the price. The average price range is between ~€8 and ~€19 depending on your selection.
🔍 But for those of you reading my review, I also have some interesting tidbits:
• Man.Gia isn't just a pizzeria: its menu also includes highly regarded desserts and craft beers (including gluten-free ones).
• It has become a go-to place for celiacs in the city: for many, being able to eat without worrying about cross-contamination is a blessing.
• Customers express a certain emotion when they talk about the dough: they repeatedly say it's "soft," "smooth," and "different from other gluten-free doughs"—a sign that they've really worked hard on their techniques.
• The place is sparsely furnished, but this is offset by the family atmosphere and the focus on food and quality.
⚠️ Small "side notes"
• On busy evenings, service can be a bit slower, as everything is prepared fresh and with care.
• Being a specialized (gluten-free) place, prices may be slightly higher than other traditional pizzerias, but as mentioned, many customers find it worth it.
🌟 …But in conclusion, I can briefly summarize this:
Man.Gia is a place I highly recommend if you want to enjoy a delicious pizza, with a light dough and quality ingredients, in a welcoming and safe environment. Perfect for both those with food intolerances and those who love good food, without frills but with a lot of heart. 🍕 💓
P.S. I always recommend booking a couple of hours before the restaurant opens or a few days in advance! 📞
