The parking lot doesn't match the style of the pizzeria restaurant. It's basically a piece of land.
The quality of the products, pizza, and fried food, is undeniable. Good.
The service is unfriendly and inadequate.
The costs are high. Not proportionate.

Knowing "Lioniello"'s reputation, I expected much more from his pizzas.
The pizza with stew was good but not exceptional, while the one with purple potatoes and cream seemed like a jumble of many things thrown together but didn't quite fit together: too many ingredients and elaborate details to put on a pizza, in my opinion.
The pasta frittatina with pulled pork was good.
The service and dining room were up to par, quick and easy.
I honestly expected more, both given the price and the restaurant's reputation.

Exceptional pizza, easy to digest, made with high-quality ingredients, clearly showcasing a commitment to innovation. The location is well-maintained, and even if you arrive without a reservation, the wait is worth it. The pizzas we've tasted are excellent, the best being the triple-baked one with its emulsion of flavors. I highly recommend this pizzeria, ranking alongside Pepe in Grani.

As a pizza chef with years of experience with pizzerias in Tuscany, I can say that Lioniello did not disappoint my expectations, good pizza appetizers as I imagined to find high levels.

Lioniello has always been and remains a reliable place to eat excellent pizza; however, many things have changed over time.
First and foremost, I'd like to mention the kindness of the staff. It's not uncommon to receive a cold or arrogant response to a simple request. No matter how busy the evening may be, it's never the fault of the individual customer.
Even the attention to detail with which pizzas are prepared isn't the same as it once was; nowadays, it's easier to find a pizza that's not cooked properly. Of course, this doesn't mean to detract from the beauty of the place or the helpfulness of the rest of the staff, but Lioniello is no longer the best pizzeria in the area.

The pizzeria is very popular, however, I have to say that the pizza didn't entirely meet my expectations. I found the tomato sauce a bit acidic, which affected the overall taste.
I was also disappointed that coffee wasn't served, a small detail that, in my opinion, completes the experience. As for the dessert, it was average, nothing particularly memorable.
Overall, it was a decent experience, but room for improvement.
Advice: Service could also be a little more attentive.
I've been there several times, over many years. But lately, the quality of the Margherita pizza (the flagship of any pizzeria) has really disappointed me. The tomato sauce is sour, almost raw.
