Pizzeria O' Masto In Caserta

Ottima trattoria dove trovare ristoro dopo la visita alla Reggia di Caserta. Ad un passo dall'ingresso ma non turistica ( per me questo é un valore aggiunto). Arriviamo alle 14.30 e ci accolgono con grande disponibilità. Ci accomodiamo, ordiniamo ed in tempi ragionevolissimi arriva tutto. Sapori semplici e genuini che rendono omaggio alla cultura enogastronomia della Campania. Ottima la mozzarella di bufala, i salumi ed i formaggi. Pasta e patate davvero buona e cotoletta enorme per le mie figlie. Prezzi assolutamente contenuti soprattutto per la qualità delle materie prime. Consigliato! PS. Eravamo stanchi ed affamati e non abbiamo potuto immortalare i piatti ma vi posso assicurare che sono il top!

Way back in 1982 I was in Caserta as a non-commissioned officer of the Air Force with other students, we always went there for pizza and a beer, at the time the money corresponded to the pay of a simple soldier with the usual consumption, but the three of us didn't have the amount to pay, the owner noticed it with a smile and made us pay a symbolic price, all with a hug, the boys were just 18 years old. 2000s, my son volunteered in Capua, my family and I returned to the masto for lunch, once we had finished paying, I asked the owner about the old owner, he replied that he was the father and he was there, I approached him to greet him and introduced himself to him as he told me about the episode, his eyes shone with emotion, he told me I remember perfectly, he said thank you again I tell this story for the new generations, to treasure the kindness of people and their values. And for those who currently insult our armed forces.

Historic family restaurant with truly excellent food, well served. It feels like being in the family. The tasty veal was fantastic, the caprese was very good as was the sautéed escarole. God willing, we'll be back!
