A historic pizzeria in Pagani, the staff is always friendly and helpful. The menu is varied, including a wide variety of pizzas and focaccias. Although it has two wood-fired ovens, a rarity these days, which operate simultaneously between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, advance reservations are required, even for takeout. Home delivery is also available.

I went to Pagani for just one day, and this was the closest pizzeria, since the one a few meters away was closed. I wasn't disappointed. Even though it was my first time there, I really appreciated the cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with various simple but effective decorations. The warm lighting also helped create a tranquil atmosphere. As for the food, I enjoyed the Margherita pizza (having to leave the next day, I was on the safe side) and the option of having lactose-free mozzarella, as I'm lactose intolerant. The wait was very short, and the appetizer arrived almost immediately. It's a shame I didn't get to try the truffle; I plan to next time :)

This was a great experience for a tourist such as myself. I visited on a regular Thursday - during lunch rush - and had the pleasure to rub shoulders with an entirely local clientele, from school kids to construction workers. I had a pizza with mushroom and fennel spiced salsiccia, and it was excellent. Service was decently fast, when taking the number of patrons into account, and we were met with friendly (but hastened) small talk by our waiter. I recommend a visit, as the food is good and the feeling of a bona fide Italian lunch joint is great.
