23/08/2024: Exceptional food and excellent value for money. Service to be reviewed.
21/08/2024: Stellar discomfort... of stars only those of the night of San Lorenzo...
A place below the expectations you may have and think for a restaurant included in the Michelin guide and above all awarded a Michelin star.
Let's start by saying that in the summer the location is external, while I assume that in the winter it is internal, much more suitable and pleasant.
The summer location is located inside this courtyard, our table was near a fan where it was impossible to talk and be able to hear the presentation of the dishes in peace and serenity, or simply talk to each other at the table. Very unnerving!!!!
Consumption of the evening 4 tasting menus with wine pairings.
Courteous service, but unprofessional on certain occasions, such as information on dishes or even clarifications on the use of techniques or simply aromatic herbs.
Further inconvenience was also due to the "size" of the table for 4 diners, with glasses of wine, bottles of water, leavened products, everything was very small.
The cuisine did not dare very slightly below expectations..
7-course tasting menu, extra menu evening dish requested from the kitchen, their Genoese tortello, sublime, harmonious and balanced….
And here's the real sore point...
Wine pairing!!!!!
Accompaniment worth €40, among other things, a combination that the maître and sommelier had advised against and advised to buy a bottle, but what is more intriguing than trying and giving free will to the maitre, to get involved, to make to entertain the guests, to achieve harmony, balance between food and wine….
Well these are the wines chosen for tasting:
- Foss Marai zero dosage (extra glass) €9 per glass, requested as an accompanying bubble for the amuse-bouche, I'll stop here
- champagne LIÉBART- RÉGNIER - brut - Excelia 2018
- TURMHOF Yellow Moscato 2022
- Langhe Arneis 2022 wax
- Castel de Paolis women's Adriana 2021
Very, very disappointing... I find it very difficult to withdraw.
