Pizzeria Don Franchino In Castellalto

It's been years since I've eaten at Don Franchino (for the reasons I've described on social media), but I've never had the best gourmet pizza 🍕 here. Ettore Ciabattoni. #tasteblogger.

So... I was undecided whether to give it just under 3 stars or 4... You'll understand. PROS: The pizzas are excellent, as is the toppings. I appreciated the option of splitting the pizza in two, allowing me to try more than one. I also enjoyed chatting with "Franchino," the owner, and the service was professional and unobtrusive. The place is tastefully decorated; by raising your voice slightly, you can easily converse. CONS: There was actually only one thing that didn't go well, but it changed a lot. We were served a bottle of water that we hadn't ordered (but paid for). Now, it's clear that it's not a price issue (prices are proportionate to the quality), but I had the impression that the place wanted to appear as one of those restaurants that, regardless of the order, automatically bring "a house product"... Well... in this case, given that I've been lucky enough to dine in similar places, the rating should go down... Privacy (close tables), noise, presentation of ingredients would need to be reviewed... Personally, I considered it a very simple mistake, which can happen, and therefore my intention is very positive.. Congratulations..

4 stars for the price, excellent raw materials, delicious pizzas, but an experience to be had a few times a year unless you have a lot of money available.

My partner and I wanted to treat ourselves to some good food after a long, busy day. Don Franchino was just what we needed! We were greeted by warm, attentive, and super friendly staff. Within 10 minutes, we ordered and had our pizzas delivered to our table, even though it was a busy Friday. The pizzas were delicious and light! Even though we were full, they served us a glass of fresh peaches with basil! So sweet! 🥰 The perfect end to the evening! ❤️

Words can't begin to convey the experience Don Franchino had!!! If you go there, you'll come back, and then you'll come back, and then you'll bring more people... Seeing is believing!!

The place is welcoming, as is the staff. The appetizers are good. The pizza is thin but firm, and there's a careful selection of ingredients and flavors, both unique and traditional. The menu has few choices, but all of them are interesting. We weren't very satisfied with the pizza, probably because of the toppings we chose. The caramelized onion in the Papa Francesco pizza was too overpowering, overpowering the other flavors, which seemed to overwhelm. I recommend removing some of it from the pizza before enjoying it. The boscaiola pizza was pleasant. The wait for the pizzas was very long (Saturday evening).

Extremely light, there's no other way to describe this place. We ate a fritter and a fried cheese, a pizza, and a dessert each, and we left feeling full but lighter than before. We particularly appreciated the opportunity they gave us to choose two halves of different pizzas. The dough was heavenly, and the ingredients were high-quality and super fresh, not to mention the desserts... the place and bathrooms were spotless!!! Huge compliments to the staff and owner for giving us a truly memorable evening. We'll definitely be back!
