Spending the weekend in a resort in Rosignano Monferrato (I Castagnoni, very nice and relaxing), we go to dinner in a restaurant among those recommended by the resort managers. The “Piatto Piano” in the Prera ​​hamlet of Ottiglio Monferrato immediately strikes us with its room, with ancient walls and fine wines placed next to them. The menu is à la carte only, very basic (only 4 starters, as many first and second courses). All very carefully prepared and simply delicious: from the fassona tataki with caramelized onion and blackcurrant vinegar to the soft egg with black Monferrato truffle for appetizer, then risotto with pumpkin and Monferrato blue cheese, then turbot fillet with aubergines and duck breast with yellow cherry tomatoes. In closing, two bitters from a selection of small local productions. All this, with the great friendliness and courtesy of the two spouses who own the place. He, among other things, has proven to be a great connoisseur of wines and spirits, a true enthusiast who enchants you with his words. One of the best dinners I've ever had. FANTASTIC.

At first the portions may seem "small" but even after tasting and savoring a starter and a second course you feel full and satisfied.
