Finally, I tried the traditional Lecce rustico. I wandered around the various restaurants in Lecce and the surrounding province, looking for the right one, but nothing, the right soft puff pastry and the right filling. Finally, I tasted the traditional Lecce pasticciotto and fruttone; well done.

I love everything because it's made with so much love by Santa Simona. The pasticcioto and cookies are unmissable, and there's also gelato.

Those who criticize the prices are accustomed to buying from glamorous pastry shops that focus more on aesthetics than substance. Here, however, artisanal craftsmanship and quality ingredients reign supreme.
