I went there two consecutive mornings during a short stay in Livorno at the end of August. The products were excellent, and the staff were very kind and professional. I couldn't ask for anything better... Whoever complains about a pastry shop like this, I'd like to see what they eat at home...

More than a pastry shop, it's a temple of good taste: the floral entrance hints at the enchantment that surrounds you upon entering as Christians. The cremino is a gastronomic journey I will long remember.

I came in to ask for information. The cakes looked beautiful and definitely delicious. The prices have always been expensive, but now even more so. The woman wasn't very willing to list the cake ingredients or help me choose. She was very brief, brusque, and irritable. She didn't put me at ease, even when I politely asked about the prices and weight of the cakes (which I don't think is a strange thing to ask). Not feeling welcomed as a high-end pastry shop should, and not convinced by the prices, I left without buying anything. I think the staff's skill lies in turning an unconvinced customer's "no" into a "yes," but apparently they don't care, since they're already very well-known in Livorno; for them, one more or one less customer makes little difference. It's a shame; a few years ago, I remembered them being much more welcoming and helpful. But now it seems to me that either you come in and take the cake/desserts without asking too many questions and handing out your money, or you're a bum. That's the perception I've had, I'm sorry. As a Livorno native, it used to be my favorite pastry shop, but now I don't think I'll ever want to stop by there again. But I'm always willing to change my mind if I have a different experience.
