Papisca Restaurant In Rapallo

The restaurant overlooks the Rapallo seafront. It is modern and well-kept. The dishes are well presented with the right portions. We had prosciutto and burrata (a very generous dish), pansoti with walnut sauce (reflecting the traditional Ligurian), fettuccine with scampi, spaghetti with sea urchin pulp, fried calamari (the frying was light and the calamari tender) and grilled swordfish (perfectly cooked, not dry at all). All the dishes were very good and well cooked. We also had desserts, which were also very good. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are not high for being in Rapallo and for having eaten fish. Reservations are recommended.

We stopped for dinner passing by by chance and we did the right thing. We had a divine dinner, very good mussels but above all the fried calamari was on another level super light and crunchy, try it to believe it. All very fresh fish, but even the simple trofie with pesto that my son had were very good. The only thing that perhaps I would not get again are the desserts, too sweet but still good even those. If we return to Rapallo it will be a must.

I can't believe how this place was empty when we arrived, compared to the other places there were only two people. We entered and the waiter who welcomed us was very kind. We ordered spaghetti with seafood and spaghetti with sea urchin pulp and fresh walnuts, for the second course we opted for a mixed fried fish, all accompanied by a good wine. The dinner was exquisite, really good in fact we complimented it several times. Talking a bit with the waiter we discovered that the owner is Neapolitan and you can tell by the quality of the food compared to other places in Rapallo!!! Even on the desserts we can only give compliments: I had a Sicilian cannolo and they filled it with homemade ricotta, while my partner opted for a simple tiramisu. A compliment to the chef and the waiter (we didn't ask his name, we only know that he has Romanian origins). When I return I want to come back here. I recommend it to everyone.

Excellent wine compared to its neighbors. Unfortunately the food is bland. These are the worst eggplants in my life in general and Melanzane alla Parmigano in general. The same goes for pasta. We drank Brunello with hastily cooked food accompanied by questions that touched me to the core: “where did you come from” and “is there something wrong, is everything okay”? It's not like that, people. This is already an internationally famous dish. Soggy, hard, tasteless eggplant. A crust of unmelted cheese and raw tomatoes. All this in lettuce leaves in water. Please don't ask if everything is okay. I was especially touched by the story about how the second course had a sole made of bitter dough - a national tradition. And the anchovies simply melted into the endive since they are salty and are added instead of salt. The restaurant next door is exactly the opposite. The food is authentic. The wine list is unclear. You guys should somehow unite and level this attitude towards tourists.

Esperienza deludente. Dopo aver atteso 20 minuti prima che qualcuno venisse a prendere l’ordinazione, nonostante il locale non fosse pieno, ci aspettavamo almeno un servizio attento. Invece i piatti sono arrivati non solo nell’ordine sbagliato, ma anche spaiati, costringendoci – eravamo in 4 – a mangiare a turni. Il pesce del giorno, promesso in 20 minuti, è arrivato dopo 50, e il contorno di verdure, pagato a prezzo pieno, consisteva in soli 4 pezzi. Disorganizzazione, lentezza e porzioni discutibili. Peccato, perché il locale aveva del potenziale.

Excellent seafood dinner (special mention for the tuna tartare), relaxing atmosphere, attentive and friendly service. A lovely find on the Rapallo waterfront! ✨

I went for lunch on Carnival Sunday, although the place was practically full the service was impeccable, everyone was extremely kind and quick: the girl who served us was of rare grace and kindness. Very good food, both the first courses and the mixed fried dishes! I would more than willingly go back ❤️

Beautiful surprise. Great quality food. The menu presents some 'alternative' courses, which allows you to vary from the 'usual' Ligurian dishes that everyone offers (and which are also present in this menu). Extraordinary desserts. Service worthy of praise: the lady is very kind.
