The focaccias are very good, especially the stuffed ones. Loaves of bread in various sizes.

Both the pizza and desserts are delicious. Generous portions and reasonable prices.

A good stop during our visit, probably not well stocked when we passed by given the time (Sunday afternoon), but excellent products.

When you arrive in Matera, a mandatory stop!

Delicious food and affordable prices. Perfect focaccia, perhaps a little oily. The breadsticks are very good and rich in toppings. The rolls are also excellent. The staff is super helpful and even helped us with directions.

Pane e Pace bakery is a true gem in Matera. Every product is a tribute to tradition and quality, from the IGP Matera bread, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, to the flavorful focaccias and homemade desserts. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is always smiling and ready to offer advice. A must-visit for anyone who wants to savor the authentic flavor of Matera's bread and traditions.

As a local, I'm sorry to say anything negative about this. But since I ate a lot of onion calzones as a child, I'd like to point out that, when you list the ingredients on the product label, they should all be present if possible. Specifically, if I read onion, anchovies, capers, and olives, in the two slices my wife and I had, there wasn't even a hint of anchovies, capers, or olives—just onion. I understand that these ingredients are very expensive, while the onion is definitely cheaper, but you can't avoid two essential ingredients with very strong and recognizable flavors to save on ingredients, especially at €4.50 a slice. That said, improve yourselves and don't rely on your restaurant's prime location to "trick" customers. I recommend Lucano.

I tried the store near the Cathedral, perfect for a lunch break or a snack; there's a small indoor dining area for on-site dining. A wide selection of focaccias, savory and sweet treats, breadsticks, and of course bread. Fair prices. Refreshing drinks are also available.
