Nice environment and staff always available. Choice of menu varied and oriented according to Japanese tradition. This is not a Chinese-style all-you-can-eat restaurant. A place to appreciate the quality and originality of the ingredients. Here the fish has a flavor and I recommend not covering it with cheese, mayonnaise etc etc. The price is above average, but I assure you not too much compared to an Ayce restaurant with particular benefits in terms of quality. Having been to Japan several times, I can't tell you that you will find the same authenticity here as in any other place in Rome, but it is certainly the closest thing to it. Advised!

Necessary premise: we have always been very satisfied with this place. However, this evening's service did not live up to the ambitions of a restaurant that aims to distinguish itself, in location and quality of products, from an ordinary AYCE.
The waits were excessive, with over 45 minutes for the first course, the dining room staff clearly overloaded and courses not served. The feeling is that priority was given to takeaway orders, penalizing those who dined in the dining room (the door of the restaurant, despite the cold, remained constantly open).
However, we appreciated the small discount received at the end of dinner as a sign of attention to the poor service.

The fall: from 5 to 3 stars.
After a few months I find myself returning to this place, we are now on our eighth visit and there is some news, not good.
Let's start from the room, at first glance nothing seems to have changed but the cushions on all the seats are stained (the soft light helps). The bathroom at 7.30pm (opening time) has full buckets and the hand towel holder completely empty. The sink has a clogged tap filter so it splashes everywhere and then last but not least... the toilet seat is torn away from the bowl.
Let's go to the service, capable waiters, but young and not very attentive to what arrives at the tables, I'll explain this later.
Food
The flavor of the dishes does not seem to have changed over time but there have been some unpleasant exceptions.
We start with the miso soup, the waiter pours some on the table and sees it, he doesn't bother to apologize, or clean up or bring a handkerchief. We are sporty, we cleaned ourselves, but from a place like this given the prices and the range it wants to belong to, we expect different attention.
Tuna Sashimi:
A plate was brought to the table, as per the rule, with 7 slices of sashimi which were very generous in size, but with a "small" flaw: the fish, instead of having a vibrant red colour, was opaque and above all brown/grey.
We point this out to the waitress, the dish is taken away and replaced with decidedly fresher sashimi. No apologies, no comments.
The comment I add: a dish costing €18 is unthinkable for it to be brought to the table like this and for a waiter not to judge what he is bringing to the table as unsuitable for consumption.
Hosomaki spicy tuna:
Here too, as above, tuna in some hosomaki with a dull colour.
We avoided eating the worst ones.
We close with the payment, where we thank you for having replaced the sashimi, also to stimulate a response, an explanation, any reaction... Nothing, just silence.
Comment to close the review:
Some time ago we fell in love with this place but at present I don't think we will return, it only looks downhill.

All very good. Many choices on the menu and explained very well by the employee. The dishes were excellent and well paired. The environment is quiet, peaceful, they should just pay a little more attention to detail such as the floor but overall very nice.

A guarantee now, we were regular customers of Okasan, in the Prati area, since we moved to Talenti we moved here from Otosan, same professionalism and service, which is not easy these days to maintain such a high standard in two restaurants of the same ownership .
Also excellent if taken as a takeaway and the preparation takes place quickly, around 20 minutes from the time of ordering.
Obviously, in addition to the excellent food, the courtesy of the staff and the cleanliness of the environment are no exception.
