Osteria Mercato In Stresa

We stopped at this restaurant after reading it was among the most recommended in Stresa, what can I say, it did not disappoint our expectations! Beautiful location, modern and well-kept... Excellent food, we tried both meat and fish dishes. The girl who served us at the table was very good

If we exclude the fact that they served spaghetti instead of bavette, for the rest it must be said that the dishes are excellent. The atmosphere of the place, however, does not compete with others tried in Stresa where we found a much warmer and more attentive welcome. But what really clashes with the pretensions of the place, is the service offered by the improvised waitress girl. She should be reminded that before bringing the new dishes the previous ones must be removed, that the cutlery must be brought with a tray (or a napkin) and not by hand and that the wine by the glass must be presented and tasted and that there is a minimum quantity to pour, something that she evidently does not know. In essence, a pretentious place but not up to expectations. Prices slightly higher than average

Lunch was taken on the terrace. The cuisine was well prepared and the menu offered a good variety of dishes and wines. The dishes were well prepared and beautifully prepared. The terrace was pleasant and well laid out. The staff was charming and attentive.

To be fair, it is early in the season, we arrived before they officially opened for the evening, and it was Sunday. It was filling up nicely though as we were leaving. That being said, we were greeted and made to feel welcome, all the staff were friendly and nice, the food, another league ! Cannot praise it enough, absolutely beautiful. Only here for a week and there are so many more restaurants to try, but we will be back here before we go home !

The place is certainly better defined as a wine bar......poor à la carte menu, with little choice.....but on the other hand a very rich wine menu......with over 8 pages.

Highly recommended. Food great, staff friendly, service great! We ate in Stresa 4 evenings, this one was the best!

Op het terras hebben we lekker gegeten. Veel gerechten op de kaart hadden een of meer verrassende ingrediënten. Vooral de risotto was erg lekker. De bediening was vriendelijk en heel snel.

Bel locale con possibilità di mangiare anche all’aperto. Buoni i bao Buns di carne (2 è molto abbondanti). Eccezionale il cordon blue di coniglio, mentre invece la pasta mischiata cozze patate e provola era un po’ pesante. Buoni senza strafare i dolci (5/8€).
