Osteria La Vacca is a restaurant located just outside the center of Castelguglielmo and a few kilometers from Fratta Polesine. It's in the middle of a small hamlet. We stopped for dinner one evening, somewhat by chance, because in nearby Fratta Polesine, all the restaurants were full for an event taking place in the town center. Just to be on the safe side, we called 10-15 minutes before our arrival to reserve a table. It's obvious the restaurant has been open for a while, and they've recently given it a makeover. The decor is simple, typical of a trattoria, and the atmosphere is relaxed. We ordered an appetizer and two main courses with sides. We couldn't try dessert because we were too full. The dishes are generously portioned: a mixed appetizer of cured meats and cheeses was sufficient. Then, in addition to the classic mixed grill, we tried the donkey stew: a unique but very good dish. It's a shame we didn't have room for dessert; I imagine it would have been just as satisfying as the rest of the dishes. The service was quick, probably also considering the time we dined. There seemed to be few people at the tables, but around 8:00 PM, many people with reserved tables began to arrive. The staff was very kind and helpful throughout the service. The restaurant is also child-friendly; that evening, there was a couple with their child at the next table. The restaurant is on the ground floor and is easily accessible for both strollers and wheelchairs. There is a free private parking lot adjacent to the restaurant with plenty of parking spaces.

Excellent restaurant for lunch, with a casual atmosphere and a menu offering a good selection of non-basic dishes, including starters, main courses, and side dishes. You can choose between a full menu, a starter menu, or a main course. Excellent dishes, generous portions, and excellent prices. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a quick, tasty, and affordable lunch, stop at this restaurant. The price (very low), quality (good), and service (fast and friendly) are excellent. The lasagna is excellent. It's worth a stop.

I returned to this restaurant after a year for dinner on Saturday, August 9, 2025. I can't comment on the speed or prices; but seeing the owner (along with the waiter) bringing the food in flip-flops and shorts, and a black and white cat wandering between the tables and into the kitchen... absolutely not! I ordered vegetables as a side, but they arrived at the oven.

Despite the language barrier, it was clear that the staff was trying to make us happy, and they succeeded. Friendly atmosphere and great food at a more than reasonable price.

A small town tavern, but very clean and charming. Fast service and friendly staff. We only had a main course and side dish... and we were right! We received generous meat dishes, excellent meat, as were the side dishes... we looked at the first courses, which were incredibly generous and mouth-watering... maybe next time, because obviously we'll be back! The bill wasn't a fixed price, but it was still reasonable given the quality and abundance of the food.

I went for lunch and was really impressed. The staff was friendly, kind, and truly professional. The meat was fantastic, but the entrees were also excellent, and the portions were generous. I highly recommend it.
