Love this place. I have spent 9 weeks here in Lecce working, and this restaurant has the best eggplant parmagiana. I keep coming back. They also have a very friendly staff

Visiting beautiful Lecce with a big appetite, here at Osteria il Poeta Contadino we were very satisfied and satisfied with very good and tasty food with a pleasant view of the small Piazza Sigismondo.

In June, we traveled with a friend. We looked this place up through recommendations, and it truly exceeded our expectations! A magical dinner in Lecce. 🌿
The place has a special charm: wooden tables, soft lighting, and that calming southern energy. We ordered fresh pasta—simply delicious—paired with a good local red wine. The flavors were authentic, balanced, and full of character, as if made with love and tradition. Definitely one of those places that makes you feel at home away from home. 💫🍝🇮🇹

Everything was excellent. The place was beautiful, and the food was delicious. We had the full experience and ordered the house wine, fave e cicoria, I ordered orecchiette e monkfish—a must-try here—and my husband ordered carbonara. Everything was sooo delicious. The lady at the next table, a very friendly Italian woman, recommended we order ciceri e tria, but we were tempted by the other option and it wasn't a mistake. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

An incredible place to try typical local dishes. They have delicious orecchiette with burrata. The house wine is also delicious and reasonably priced (a 750ml jug).
For dessert, they have a limited selection but very good options because most of them are typical of the region.

The orecchiette with burrata are good, but avoid the appetizers and especially the PITTOLE, they are not edible.
