In a world full of sandwich shops, this place is a real restaurant. Great service and the pesto was the best I've ever had. Good price too. 5 stars.

We were looking for a place to eat and this restaurant showed up when we turned around the corner. The prices were good as well as the quality of the food. The waiter was very kind and knew english well. The armosphere was cozy and it additionaly made for the great experience we had.

Really delicious dinner, we didn’t have a starter but could see those that other people had and they looked lovely. Our main courses were really tasty and the dessert was wonderful. Although the decor was really nice the music was bizarre - Nirvana doesn’t bring Tuscan vibes 😂 so although a nice walk down memory lane it didn’t really bring anything to the atmosphere hence only 2 stars. May just have been that night though so don’t let it put you off, the food more than makes up for it. The staff were very friendly and the service excellent.

Nice restaurant overall. We took 1 pizza (quatre fromages), gnocchi and Italian fresh pasta (home made) with a local beef meat marinated in tomato sauce. It was well done, we really enjoyed the food, the service was a bit long though but no big issue.

Cibo molto buono. Tagliere di formaggi con miele e marmellata squisito. Il riso al radicchio al Chianti davvero ben cotto e ben amalgamato. La grigliata di carne eccellente. Si può migliorare il servizio.

Osteria non turistica ma assolutamente casereccia e da provare. Primi molto buoni e abbondanti con prezzi ottimi. Se fossi stato un altro giorno,sarei ritornato. Uniche note negative: nei pici al cinghiale se si vogliono mettere le olive devono essere denocciolate; il caffè a 2€(acquoso) e prezzi dei dolci non indicati. Comunque consigliato.

12/05/2025: I chanced upon a card of this hotel where I stayed for two nights some twelve years ago and memories of lovely food, homely surroundings, the beautiful dining area all came flashing in. It is in a quaint little town called Montopoli situated near Pisa.

Il Campano

02/06/2025: We went to Il Campano for dinner and the experience was very positive, despite a small initial mix-up. We had booked for 9:15 pm but had to wait a bit before being seated. However, the staff was very courteous and at the end of the dinner offered us a discount to apologize for the delay — a gesture that was truly appreciated. The cuisine is authentic Tuscan, tasty and well-prepared. We tried pici with wild boar sauce, simply delicious: handmade pasta with a rich and tasty ragù, perfectly balanced. For dessert, we chose the Pisanina cake, which turned out to be a very pleasant discovery: a typical dessert, simple but with character, perfect for ending the meal. The environment is welcoming, with a warm and rustic atmosphere that goes well with the gastronomic proposal. Recommended for those looking for traditional Tuscan cuisine with a touch of authenticity. Despite the initial wait, we would gladly return!
