This place is difficult for me to review, I had dinner at Osteria Diabasis for two nights in a row, because I was bewitched by the cuisine and confused by the service.
The food is spectacular 5 out of 5. I was able to taste many things from the menu and every time I was pleasantly surprised. I tried 3 starters (diabasis starter, 'mbuttunate aubergines and anchovy meatballs), 4 first courses (candles with octopus Genoese, mezzanelle with calamarille, fennel and almonds, Cilento ravioli, gnocchi with figs and buffalo blue cheese)
The service isn't the best, the dishes are slow to come out, the waiters are slow and don't seem enthusiastic about life.
I hate waiting, so it weighs on me, I must say that both times I went for dinner I arrived among the first two tables, so the wait is not justified by the turnout.
In short, the wait made me nervous, but everything disappeared every time a new dish arrived. Even though I hate waiting, I saved this restaurant to my personal list of places to visit

Beautiful discovery in the village of Ascea, non-trivial menu, really generous portions and fair prices.
Very friendly waiter. We had the aubergines 'mbuttunate, gnocchi with buffalo blue and figs, anchovy meatballs on a bed of burrata and aubergines with scapece. With a coca coffee and a bottle of water we spent €52 for two.
I would have gladly tried the pizza which looked delicious but we will be back!

Bellissima scoperta nel paesino di Ascea,menu' non banale,porzioni davvero abbondanti e prezzi giusti.
Cameriere molto gentile.Noi abbiamo preso le melanzane 'mbuttunate,gnocchetti al blu di bufala e fichi,polpettine di alici su letto di burrata e melanzane alla scapece.Con una coca caffè e una bottiglia d'acqua abbiamo speso 52€ in due.
Avrei assaggiato volentieri la pizza che sembrava buonissima ma torneremo!

Wide choice menu.
Homemade ravioli with cow's ricotta and special tomato and basil sauce.
Delicious anchovies cooked in various ways.
Friendly staff.

Anchovy meatballs served on Cilento stracciatella
Sicilian cannolo but the best thing was the Cilento ravioli! Strictly homemade, simple but truly unforgettable

In the small village of Ascea, practically a terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, a not very large restaurant, friendly staff, excellent pizza as you can see from the photos, it is prepared in the "Neapolitan" style, very good, I recommend trying the cuisine, a menu of dishes full of flavors and typical Cilento recipes. Rating 8

Let's start with the positive things about this restaurant: the food! We had the homemade ravioli, the ciambotta and the Cilento cannoli, all very good.
The place is nice, on a terrace with a view of a glimpse of the sea, that evening it was very hot, perhaps it would be advisable to put some fans.
Let's move on to the sore points: the service. Initially the attendant welcomed us kindly but then there were some things I didn't like. We asked if we could divide the ciambotta duet into 2 (we didn't know what the dish consisted of and in the heat we weren't very hungry) and the waiter replied quite resentfully and sarcastically with the phrase "how do you divide The ciambotta in 2?? It's not possible", so we took 2... Then, essentially, the dish consisted of 2 terrines with different vegetables inside, so it was enough to bring just an extra saucer and the contents could easily be filled divide in 2, it didn't take a science! Then in the end I asked the waitress for a latte but in the meantime the usual room attendant came by saying that it wasn't possible to have a latte, initially I thought he was joking but the coffee actually arrived without milk. I believe that, whatever the reason why you couldn't have milk in a café, the explanation to the customer was appropriate instead of just replying that you couldn't in a bad way.
