Decorated like an old tavern with a private courtyard where you can eat, it offers a menu of local dishes with generous portions. Normal price

We discovered this place thanks to the recommendations of the owners of the accommodation where we booked. Travo is a village that rises on the Piacenza hills and lies on the banks of the Trebbia river; arriving at dinner time here you can breathe the air of a working day just finished. Entering the tavern you encounter the history of this village and of the family that for four generations has brought to the table the typical dishes of the area and of Piacenza cuisine. The decor mixes vintage furniture and photos (including the fireplace) and more recent elements, in a stratification of history and knowledge that introduce the subsequent discovery of authentic flavors. We tried the bortlein with cured meats and cheeses, the vegetable crostini and two first courses, accompanied by the house red, a sparkling Barbera. These dishes were exquisite and abundant, we skipped the second course and dessert and stopped to taste the amari, typical of the area. The punctual service and a chat at the end concluded a pleasant evening at the table. Too bad it's not around the corner for us!

A really nice traditional restaurant with typical food. Not fancy, a good place for a large group of people who like a hearty meal. Tagliatelle, pisarei, gnocchi and other pasta dishes, together with good salame and other local cured meats. A mention to the really lovely Bargnolino, a local sour cherry-like amaro.

Osteria with easy parking, arrived here by chance, for dinner. After all, the reviews speak for themselves. Small village with a beautiful medieval castle. The food is very good... tasty and well-seasoned dishes. Fast and attentive service. Even without a reservation it's not a problem. Compliments for the grated cheese to put on the pasta... one of the best I have ever tasted in a restaurant: a sign of attention to detail and excellent quality of the raw materials used. The first phenomenal cacio e pepe! The cut is also really good and tender. The house wine is also good. Compliments! Too bad we weren't offered any bitters when paying the bill. We were also made to pay for the coffee we finally asked for at the counter. A must stop if you are passing through the area.

Very nice place, on a quiet street in a small village in Piacenza. The pine nuts in mushroom and cream sauce and the sliced beef with gorgonzola are exceptional. We didn't expect the tiramisu with the amaretti biscuits so 0/5 stars but it's our personal taste. I recommend it for a good lunch with friends on a sunny day for a trip out of town.
