The Osteria del Boccaccio, once a farmhouse, is famous for hosting the scenes of the famous film "Boccaccio 70" with De Sica. - in fact upon entering the room the various paintings and the placemat reflect scenes from the film.
The place immediately wins you over for the warm service, the refined - but at the same time familiar - environment and for that delicious scent that stirs the taste buds.
Here you can fully experience the tavern in and of itself, the paper placemats, the beautiful wide and thick solid wood tables ready to host the various courses, the mirrors marked by time, the vintage style ice cream menu give a not indifferent feeling of carefreeness.
The veranda is also beautiful, overlooking a garden waiting to be discovered with some cats that can be glimpsed beyond the glass without ever disturbing you.

Entrée:
• Crostini with dried tomato pesto and buffalo foam: the consistency of the crouton is good, but the choice of flavors is a little less so, the colors are a prelude to a delicate caprese, however at the first bite the flavor is really strong. It didn't particularly convince us, the pesto was too tasty and the foam was under-appreciated. On the other hand, a positive note for the bread basket, seeing something like this is almost a mirage now.
Appetizers:
• Sandwich with sardines, mixed salad, aromatic herbs, mustard sauce and pomegranate caviar: sardines rich in flavour, full, perhaps the name sandwich was not entirely appropriate given that the sandwich was very crunchy and thin, in short it did not give that idea of white and fluffy sandwich you expect. The pomegranate is good in this particular consistency, halfway between a bubble and a candy.
First:
• Tagliatelle with ragù: WOW! ! ! Explosion, a bomb of taste already from the smell. Tagliatelle filled with ragù, greased in the right amount, slipped serenely without leaving that feeling of fat in the stomach. Visually smooth but slightly rough on the palate. There are no words for this dish, excellent from every point of view.
• Porcini, chestnut and yolk compote soup: the undisputed protagonist is the mushroom which covered a slightly too central scene in this dish, leaving little outlet for the chestnuts and egg. In our opinion it was too "sweet", it lacked that note of marked authority which would certainly have given more liveliness to the dish. The yolk compote is good.
• Cannelloni with cod, tomato sauce, milk cream, anchovy oil and parsley: Good, delicious, greedy, excellent idea to replace the classic ricotta and spinach filling with cod, the dish was delicate thanks to the cod but at the same time with a significant identity thanks to the anchovy oil.
Seconds:
• Spiedone Boccaccio: cuts of meat cooked to perfection, from first to last. Excellent sausage, its crust on the outside and its soft filling on the inside, eaten together with the potatoes, gave an extraordinary bliss, the beef fillet cooked rare was good, the chicken was very tender, the spare ribs melted in the mouth and the flesh fell away. from the bone just by looking at it, the tender and succulent pork fillet is also good. Seasonal vegetables, fresh and cooked well.
Wine: 🍷
• Valpolicella Ripasso "Malavoglia": Ruby color with a dry taste, great freshness, elegance but little structure.
The Boccaccio tavern manages to give its guests a feeling of well-being and warmth typical of the tavern.
The tables close together, the people chatting, the innkeeper always available and smiling, the young, dynamic and cheerful waiters, the full plates and the happy hearts.
To be honest we have always heard of this place as a particular restaurant, made for fashionable people, however this feeling is immediately canceled out after sitting inside the restaurant - here you feel happy drinking your good wine in front of a good barbecue, you are pampered and treated like a person, not like a customer.
Oh how nice it would have been to listen to the Decameron in this tavern while sipping a nice glass of red wine

Per me è una certezza da anni! Bell'ambiente, ragazzi simpatici e proposte di ottima qualità. Il menù riesce, a mio parere, a soddisfare qualsiasi richiesta: tradizionale, carne, pesce, vegetariana. Se siete amanti della buona birra, qui trovate alcune ottime bottiglie che arrivano direttamente dalla Franconia. TOP!
