Just had a superb meal at L’Osteria Dei Trenta. Delicious fresh bruschetta starter and the most tender entrecôte and fillet steaks we’ve experienced. A bottle of a local Chianti Classico (€25) was also superb.
The brave waitress battled valiantly to serve us (and three other respectful tables) around the demands of a table of American guests whose number went from 6 to 4 back to 6, then up to 10 and who wouldn’t know decent food if it slapped them in the face and said ‘I’m properly cooked and delicious’. They were sending food back, demanding the waitress’s attention immediately for new orders, changing their orders and generally being arrogant, disrespectful, ignorant and self-obsessed. So, if you are part of that group about to leave a review (you’ll remember because I told you what I thought of you), then shame on you, and if you’re not (but are American) then you should be embarrassed by the tourist exports you have created.
But to the waitress and the kitchen staff - bravo. You don’t deserve bad customers like that. You are amazing, polite, humble and a credit to Tuscany.
