We came to visit Sant'Arcangelo and decided to stop at this trattoria, with an old-fashioned atmosphere, excellent dishes made with simple but reimagined ingredients, and kind and helpful staff.

We went during the famous "beak fair." The dishes were very well-prepared, just like the setting, and the service was very helpful and courteous. I think it's a bit pricey for the quality of the food, and quite greasy... after all, these are traditional dishes revisited with a modern twist. I don't think I'll return, especially because I'm not the right customer.

We've been frequenting Osteria da Oreste since early 2022, and it's long been our favorite place, tied to important moments and fond memories.
That intimate, well-kept spot where "I want a treat this evening"—the enthusiasm of the staff, the ever-changing menu, and the ever-present appeal of enticing off-menu options—came to us. (I had the best puttanesca and pappa al pomodoro of my life!)
There was evident, obsessive attention to detail: in the incredibly simple yet carefully crafted food, in the dining room, which knew how to perfectly recommend and serve wine, and, in short, in the customers. For those of us who love, are passionate, and curious about food, it was a place where we felt welcomed and cared for, and when we left the table, we thought, "We absolutely must return soon!"
BUT... over the past year, something, or perhaps everything, has changed... we've been coming back more and more, gradually decreasing our visits because we've noticed a significant change in direction...
and our latest experience a few weeks ago confirmed our feelings and left us truly disappointed: awkward, distracted, inattentive, and distant service (very different from what we'd been used to from those who'd been there previously), with incorrect dishes and others that never arrived... a table for eight seated in a narrow passageway, right in front of the door, despite the restaurant being very sparsely populated.
Even the cuisine, once interesting, now seems less focused: poorly balanced dishes, well-executed but lacking in personality, and above all, repetitive in its offerings. The €20 price tag for a cheese tasting is emblematic: three micro-slices, neither presented nor explained.
We expected something more, perhaps because this place had meant so much to us. Writing this review is a shame, but it stems from a nostalgia for what Osteria da Oreste used to be and the hope that it can rediscover the attention and soul that made it special.

A very well-maintained restaurant and excellent food with thoughtful and balanced pairings. The wait staff is extremely friendly! They also pay special attention to food intolerances, with several gluten-free options available.

The atmosphere, typical of an old Romagna tavern, won us over immediately. Overall, we ate and drank well. The dishes we chose were rich and filling, but (personal taste) they didn't make us say "wow." The service was excellent, with attentive and kind staff. I didn't give it full marks only because the woman serving us assumed my companion should taste the wine, but I chose it myself. A forgivable mistake. One point less for the flaky piada... I admit I've never had it before, but it tasted very dry. The bread, however, was excellent, well-hydrated, well-leavened, and crispy with a nicely airy crumb. It's definitely worth it.
