Osteria Canali In Salerno

Osteria Canali is a gem. We ate here twice and consistently 5 stars. The food is outstanding and extremely creative with flavors we never experienced but it all works beautifully ., The owner is so warm and welcoming; she makes you feel welcome and at home. Kudos to our waiter as well. Put this all together and it adds up to an incredible experience. We even made new friends as the atmosphere is so relaxed that you feel free to speak with other diners at the next table. Do not miss this place

I am disappointed when reading the opinions of other Internet users because this restaurant seems to have real potential. We probably had the wrong day. The revisited carbo pasta is worth the detour. However, there seems to be a language barrier because I was assured a dish with squid when it was actually a stew, without a shadow of octopus. For the price it's quite disappointing. Finally, the prices change every week and the server gets confused easily; small error in favor of the restaurant.

We didn't take any food pictures this time, but we enjoyed an Anniversay dinner in the heart of Salerno. We had a sampler platter typical to the area, a bottle of DonnaLuna wine (very good), some interesting main courses and a chocolate cake with orange marmalade on one half and mint on the other. My husband liked the marmalade side and I thought the mint half was delicious.

Sehr feines, kleines Restaurant mit ungewöhnlichen Gerichten. Alle sehr delikat und liebevoll angerichtet. Wir verbrachten dort einen wunderschönen Abend.

Absolutely divine food! Kind staff. Our airbnb host recommended it and he wasn’t wrong. One of our fav restaurants of the trip.

A special evening at Osteria Canali. For around thirty euros we were able to taste some delicious dishes, including an appetizer with aubergine parmigiana, broccoli meatball with hazelnut mayonnaise, potato with bran pepper and minestra strinta (i.e. the essence of the soup without the broth, with chicory and toast). For the second course, the choice could only fall on the bush pork, embellished with chestnut honey, and finally we were flattered by the dessert, which for my command was a tart with custard and hazelnuts, warm and fragrant. Not even the bitterness remained unscathed because it was really good. But now let's let the images do the talking.
