Arriving based on the reviews, we found a welcoming place with friendly, quick service. The food was good but didn't exactly win applause (the wild boar stew was too tough).
The first courses offered didn't taste like the region they were served in, which was a bit out of place with the restaurant's interior and the town where the trattoria is located.
What a shame.
A well-deserved five stars for the excellent food, the unusual and generous appetizers, and not to mention the first courses... excellent, too. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommended.

Amazing food, well worth a detour even if Gavoi is not your destination. We went with a local friend, had a huge lunch. The service is super attentive and kind. We'll be back.
This restaurant is a gem of local cuisine. All dishes are executed perfectly and service is outstanding! I wholeheartedly recommend Borello when visiting Sardinia!
