After getting a bonus on a website (you can see it in the photo), I thought — why not treat myself to dinner out? And I’m glad I did! The dish was delicious, nicely portioned, beautifully presented. The evening turned out extra cozy — just a bonus, but it made my whole day better.

Angelino is a well-known name in the capital's restaurants. There are at least three here in Rome with the name Angelino on their sign. I tried the osteria that claims to have started feeding Romans way back in 1899, essentially the end of the 19th century, when the boys born in what would prove to be an unlucky year for them didn't know they'd be taking up arms against the Austrians. Now Angelino, or rather his successors, also feed foreigners who, in droves, after pedaling in and around the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine, sit exhausted at his osteria's tables, as is only right. The culinary experience I had at Angelino was excellent. The traditional dishes I chose, including saltimbocca with baked potatoes, were up to the task and full of flavor, both on the palate and the eye. The light white wine helped the dishes absorb the flavors. Coffee while digesting them. Fair price, courteous and efficient service. I'll be back.

The food was very good. They brought us the main course first, then the focaccia. It took a long time for them to serve us, but the food was very good.
