Osteria Al Carro In Susegana

A place from times gone by with a fireplace in the center of the room, vintage prints and a very pleasant vintage atmosphere. The cuisine is "mother's" and the menu and flavors confirm it. Fixed menu to try, pay attention to the extras... they might surprise you.

Pleasant typical Treviso osteria. The Glera wine and the lit fireplace enlivened the tasty dinner.

I was passing through during the week, having seen it with my eye at the last second. It is the classic trattoria where you expect to see your grandparents playing trumps. Narrow and long place, a little dark but nice and with a familiar flavour. Two pasta dishes, one amatriciana and one with meat sauce, both excellent. Grilled chicken with potatoes and pork loin with gratin fennel, these are also excellent. Right portions, not to weigh you down but not to leave you hungry either. An excellent pinot as a house wine. The two of us spent €38, a pittance. Two very diligent waiters (or owners?) and the kitchen with very short turnaround times. Only flaw, but I'm super warm, it was too hot in the room.

Old style environment, paintings everywhere (of questionable taste) and objects from the past. Good cuisine...few truly vegetarian dishes given the carnivorous Venetian tradition
